Blazers sign Patrick Mills

And exercised a few other options at the same time.

There's not a lot of PT up for grabs but I'm hoping he'll get a run here and there and that bigger opportunities will be available for him in the future.

He'll be playing in D League :P

I think he's got a chance to be in Blazers' 12 (as their 3rd PG) once the Blazers work out what they're doing with Bayless. Whilst Bayless is there, can't see Mills in top 12 unless some injuries hit.

He probably won't get a heap of time, but still, I'm glad they decided to sign him. I thought things might have been over before the begun when he got that injury

Yeah, saw this a while ago.

It's very encouraging. When he went down with injury, the team actually stated that they really wanted to help him in his dream to play in the NBA. I didn't really expect them to sign him but now that they have, it's very promising. I reckon Mills is a steal. Before he was injured at Saint Mary's, there was talk of him as a first or second team All-American. All about opportunities in the NBA and I hope the Blazers can offer that to him. (Y)

It's good to see him getting signed on, he's got a good basketball IQ, just lacks size a little.

That said, he shouldn't have came out this year in the first place. He got hurt last year and I think that hurt his stock a lot, if he stays St. Marys is ready to go back to the tourney and he is a high second rounder or late first in 2010.

I was thinking about that too, but then he could've had another subpar year regardless or another injury and he'd been yet another year removed from his performance at the Olympic tournament in Beijing that got people talking and built up a little hype for him. If he's got enough talent to make it in the NBA then it shouldn't matter.

Well, I - for one - did not expect his injury to push him back deep into the second round. I thought he'd be taken late in the first or early in the second but i guess that's how the Draft works. Players slide down the draft and some are taken higher.
