Is it possible (is there a teamcode) where i can create a team that can be viewed in places like Player Edit or Roster Reorder or Sign/Release...but not playable in Play Now (or other options)?
Reason:
-I want to separate all the nba players that have signed with overseas/international teams.
-But I want users to still be able to sign those players without dbf editing to return them to the free agent pool.
-I dont want this team to be playable because it is not a real team...
I can always teamcode them to something like decade all-star or brand team all-star....but someone might accidently pick that team (with over 15 players and not all the teamlogos/jerseys) then crash and question why without reading the fine print...
suggestions anyone? kram0829, any ideas?

you could just create them and do this with the logos

I thought of something like that...but it looks so...unclean
my alternative was (since TUP is no longer going to carry over the EA default international/euro all-stars team from 07)...that i would give this "new international team pool" all of their logos so avoid crashes
...if i teamcode a team to be an NT team and the said team has over 15 players...will there be any crashes?
my only experience is teams that have over 15 will cause crashes in dynasty. is there any other situations?

but the NT teams wont show up in dynasty mode
if you want to get crazy try cloning the free agents "team" and label it as a european pool or something and see what happens with that

i tried creating a clone "free agent team" before...that was my real plan. but only 1 free agent pool shows up...either the original or the overseas

(if someone can figure a way out to make this work...

my point about dynasty was "NT teams are a teamcode that does not show up in dynasty....to my knowledge dynasty is where teams with over 15 crash....so since NT is not in dynasty then i have no problems....are there other crashes in other areas?" sorry for not being clear.
however after doing some thinkin after posting....NT teams dont show up in the sign/release menu huh? defeating the purpose of allowing users to resign an overseas player...
...back to the drawing board

I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT!
JaoSming, could your awesome NBA LIVE 08 knowledge tell me if this makes sense....
this will work if i create a teamcode of NBA Team (0) BUT give them a conference of something other than West or East (such as 2 = all-stars + brand teams, 3 = ref, 4 = decade all-star)
why it will work:
NBA Team code (0) shows up in play now (play now can work with over 15 players because anyone about spot 12 is IR and does not show up during gameplay), practice, player edit, roster reorder, SIGN/RELEASE, etc.
Since Dynasty is only for NBA Teams (0) that are in the East or West conference (0 or 1)...then they will not show up in dynasty (unless u select them at the beginning....

)...thus no crashes for an over 15 player team in dynasty
does this make sense!?
only thing i need to test: what if dynasty season schedule is selected as Random and not NBA...will the game create a new season with this "NBA non-Conference" team?

are you trying to make it so in dynasty mode you can sign/release players to europe or something else?
im confused on your instentions with play now and dynasty conflicts

sorry.
have another team/pool with all international players
be able to sign/release said players in regular mode
the said team may or may not be playable in play now (as long as it doesn't crash either way is fine)
team does not show up in dynasty (meaning international signed players will not be in dynasty at all...unless the user signs them prior to starting a dynasty)
doing the above without making the game crash prone.

try creating a team, designate it as a NBA team so you can sign/release off of it, but give it the conference and division of the decade teams

in less words u said what i meant in my last last post...
ill try to test it out, but i need time that i dont have a lot of. thats why i was wondering if u had any experience with that so i know if im wasting my time or not with that theory.

What if you give it the same TEAMCODE as the Legends Pool? If the game will accept two Legends Pool teams - one being the new pool that you want to create - then it should work out the way you want it to.

i think u can sign...but im not sure if u can release them back into the pool.
either way ill give it a try.

You'd have to set those players' ISLEGEND attribute to True so they could be moved in and out of the pool.

well Legend Pool can't be cloned.
just like the free agent pool, there can only be one.
...anyways, looks like the only solution is this...
