Re: The Official South Park Thread

i really liked that SOMALIAN PIRATES WE episode, but... the only thing that makes me hate SP is that they are so cruel making endings (poor somalians :( ). and another good example of what i said:

Kenny Dies (FUCK CARTMAN)

and some more:
Stanley's Cup (turns out Stan was just living in another team's story)
The Death of Eric Cartman (poor Butters)

but then again, that's also what I love about South Park. they make such interesting twists.

I actually think that's something they do very well. South Park's got a great handle on dark humour, as opposed to other shows that go for dark comedy but just end up being obnoxious and too mean spirited.

yeah. who WOULDN'T LOVE South Park?

Re: The Official South Park Thread

Seth MacFarlane?

Re: The Official South Park Thread

Seth MacFarlane can't do anything about South Park without proving their point entirely. Unless he does attempt to base an entire episode on lampooning it, which he doesn't have the talent for. Anyway, South Park was here first. It's never been cancelled and Family Guy had more crappy episodes in season 8 alone than South Park has had in 13 years.

Hear, hear. :applaud:

That's not to say I don't like Family Guy of course, but the last two seasons have been rather awful and they can't match South Park as far as satire is concerned.

New episodes next Wednesday. 6 more days

Probably should be a Swine Flu episode

Yeah that's a good bet. Hopefully it's more entertaining than the latest episodes of the other animated shows I watch.

I think it's usually safe to assume that South Park will certainly raise the bar compared to FOX shows, just like every year for the past few seasons.

While I love almost every ep...i'd say seasons 8 and 11 were the highest caliber they've done. When you start reaching to Heavy Metal for episode ideas...you push it a little too much for me. But anyway: cant wait for new episodes and i hope they avoid the swine flu issue altogether aside from maybe an in poor taste cartman joke about it.

I'd say Seasons 5-11 were the peak of the show. I think they're getting to the point every long running series does when they've done too many episodes to feel fresh every week (they need to ease up on some plots in particular) but the episodes they're pumping out are still very entertaining all the same.

The boys bring in professional ghost hunters to investigate evidence of paranormal activity in the Broflovski House in an all-new episode of "South Park" titled, “Dead Celebrities,” premiering on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Powerful forces are tormenting Ike. He's freaked out and the stress could kill him. Kyle and the boys are doing everything they can to save him but the poltergeists won't leave Ike alone.

No Swine flu references so far but seems interesting nonetheless, love the Ike episodes

oh god...this will be interesting

I bet MJ is like the main ghost or whatever.

Sounds like it could be a good one. Any idea if that's referencing anything specific, or is it just an excuse to make some controversial jokes about recently deceased celebrities? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what they've come up with.

there's an epidemic of crappy ghost hunter shows in the states...so probably those and the dead celebs from the off season

You know what scares me most? we called this one...like eerily. Each person got one aspect of the plot.
Still funny though...but more predictable than usual for them. Still made me choke into my can of soda though.

So glad South Park's back

Yeah, that episode was all right. Great way to kick off the season

I thought the second half was funnier than the first, the way they dragged out the Ghost Hunters parody was kind of Family Guy-ish. I probably would've appreciated it more if I'd seen the show but for me they made their point and then went on a bit too long about it. The Michael Jackson jokes were predictable but it was still a strong finish for the episode.

I thought they could get away with "shit" now.... oh well. I loved it

+1
Nothing unexpected, slightly predictable indeed, but still miles away from the competition. They clearly are the most entertaining show of the bunch.
Jackson in Ike's body was just hilarious.

Thought this week's ep was better than last week's from start to finish. Some classic twisted South Park humour with all the sting operations, disturbing but funny all the same.

Agreed, that was a classic Southpark episode for sure

Not bad at all. Much better than the first episode. You know what i'm sayin?

"Yes, I know what you are saying". I think this might be the most profane Butters has ever been as well.

Seems most of the episodes involving the police department have the detective.
