Re: Random

I just realized this. Has shadow and Lean posted lately? We had a pretty bad typhoon last weekend. A lot of the areas in the metro had flashfloods. A lot of the people pretty much lost everything.

RIP Shadowgrin :( Lean also :(

Lean was online yesterday apparently, Shadow hasn't been around in... 5 days :|

So he hasn't, now that you mention it...hopefully both are just attending to more important matters and are alright.

It's pretty brutal here. Over 100 have died just from one day of rain (Saturday). By Sunday, it kinda just subsided. Even a PBA GM has died because of this. I think he got swept away and drowned.

Edit: Latest count is 240.

I'm alive. :seriouscat:

Been doing some freelance work since classes here are suspended for one whole week, so that means no work for me, and no pay too.

shadow hasn't been online even in Facebook.

Maybe shadow doesn't have internet connection right now because of brownout in their area. I hope he is alright though

Yeah. Most of the establishments were closed as the flood level is like seven to eight feet. AND IT'S BROWN.

Kinda felt bad as a student of mine lost her home to the flood, and was not able to save any of their stuff.

The world's climate is really changing lately due to global warming.. disasters like this are the outcome that we never want to see. :(

I'd actually welcome that typhoon...as long as I don't have to feed him.

Proof or ban.

What happened with the flooding and all is a bitch. It served as a lesson not to laugh at the works of Kevin Costner anymore. He's a fucking prophet when he made Waterworld.

The typhoon wasn't even that strong (winds) but it rained for almost the whole day. When the power was cut off and the rains stopped, I went outside. Our area is a high place but I could see the water flowing down the lower areas just a few blocks from the place I was staying. The street I'm near in looked like one big parking lot, with the drivers resting in that area because of the massive traffic jam caused by the floods. It was night and really dark already, the only source of light were a McDonalds, 7-11, and from some of the vehicles. The last time I experienced that eerie combination of flooding and darkness was when a volcano erupted in the 90's.
Even after a few days, one walking in the streets could even see the waterlines made by the flood and it's the same height as the parked mud covered Mitsubishi Pajero.
I couldn't go home because of what happened. Good thing I didn't go home on the day of the flooding itself. What is usually an hour and a half bus ride turned into an 11 hour trip as what some people told me.

As I was going home a while ago, just heard in the news that there is another typhoon coming in this Friday or Saturday which is stronger than the one that caused the flooding. Crap. Save us Kevin Costner!

It was still waterworld by Sunday though. Last Monday I saw some trucks pumping out the water from an underpass, I think that continued until Tuesday.
Even the co-founder of Smart (a telcom company) died. Nature doesn't care if you're poor or rich, it fucks you up real good.
That's why we must fuck nature just to get even. Kill the whales. Nuke the polar ice caps. Use authentic fur as common doormats. That'll teach the bitch a lesson.

True. Some establishments too were submerged during the flood.
