Only good decision Curry ever made.

Alonzo Mourning is a future HOF probably. Should he have been starting every game and playing 37+ minutes last season?

Heisley talked Iverson into signing with Grizzlies and I don't think bench role is what he promised Iverson, so Conley over Iverson is not possible, at least it seems that way for now. He'd rather retire than benching, like he said. What makes you think he'll be nice enough to yield a starting role to Conley and still be happy?
I don't know. It hasn't been spoken about really.. I assume AI was humbled when no one jumped at the chance to sign him. From AI's point of view, you would have to wonder why he signed with the Grizzlies at all. I can't answer for AI, and to be honest we are all speculating because this hasn't been talked about yet. There has been no "AI would only sign if he could start", or "AI signed despite knowing that he won't start".

The feeling within Memphis though, within newspapers, blogs and the official forum is that it's open but for many including me, he isn't expected to start. For the reasons I said in the previous post. Maybe they are waiting for training camp to make the decisions. I would be very hesitant about signing either Conley or AI for your fantasy leagues though, neither will play major minutes unless the other is injured.

At this stage of their careers Mayo and AI are about equal, but the difference is Mayo has his whole career ahead of him. If AI starts, Heisley has failed because it will be a one year rental. And when he leaves they will have to rely on Conley and Mayo again. But they won't be any more improved then the season before, because of AI getting all the minutes. This season will definately be interesting. :?

I'd say the possibility is there, but I would certainly agree that it's seemingly unlikely given AI's previous remarks (as you noted).

The thought occurs that this Grizzlies team is going to be one that doesn't click (or win) much in real life but is going to be great for those playing NBA video games where the user can overcome the personality/chemistry issues that will surely exist in real life and put all their individual talents to use, or wheel and deal thanks to most of the starting five having decent ratings. Either way, I think the virtual Grizzlies will fare a lot better this year than their real life counterparts.

Indeed, my initial impression of the trade "arghhh, this better not screw Conley and Mayo's development.. but at least I can compete with my bro (Lakers) in 2K now, without needing a miracle to win". So far the games have been much easier. We use auto sub and with the rotation system it's pretty good. But there would always be "arghhh" moments when Jaric or Buckner or Miles would be put in the game. There is none of those moments anymore, there is alot better depth. It's now a very fun and competitive computer game team, remains to be seen about real life. But definately potential chemistry problems, bit of a ticking time bomb really.. FYI Alby's latest roster has Conley as starting PG. :P

It's possible that they aren't very confident in Conley long term. AI obviously isn't a long term solution but perhaps they'll look to retain him for a year or two while they work out a long term replacement for Conley at point.
