Well, the OP is certainly encouraging.

Anyway, assist ratio only shows "most often passer" the best some combination of assist% and bad pass%.

Here's the best assist% for last decade:
John Stockton (2000-03) 47.4%
Chris Paul (2006-09) 47.0%
Mark Jackson (2000-04) 41.3%
Steve Nash (2000-09) 41.1%
Jason Kidd (2000-09) 41.0%
Deron Williams (2006-09) 40.8%
Jamaal Tinsley (2002-08) 39.0%
Jose Calderon (2006-09) 38.9%
Brevin Knight (2000-09) 38.8%
Terell Brandon (2000-02) 37.3%
Rod Strickland (2000-05) 36.2%

John Stockton at sixth? I see his point about Stock only playing through 2003, but if that's enough to qualify him as one of the best of the decade then he has to be at the top.

I wasn't expecting Chris Paul to be above both Steve Nash and Jason Kidd. :o

I think Modifly was talking about the list of top assist percentage players that Ben posted.

Hehe. I totally understand what you are saying. His passing skills were just amazing. Hornacek and Malone obviously were benefitted a lot from him. He may not be the best passer of last decade, but he sure is the best passer in that list.

Hard to disagree with any of them. Glad to see Deron at #4. :)

That's a good way of putting it. Of course, giving him a lower spot because he finished up in 2003 is inconsistent with other lists where players who have only played a season or two are given the nod as being amongst the top ten second round picks or draft busts. Like I said I understand where he's coming from, but it really seems Stock should rank atop the list all the same.
