+1 section restriction?

Play it by ear.
In any case, Bob Barker's appearance sounded like it came off pretty well. Will have to give it a look tomorrow.

Caught RAW this afternoon, good show though I'm not all that interested in the WWE title picture at the moment as I'm bored of Orton vs Cena. DX is still alright, but severely limited by the PG approach. I'm still quite liking the work of MVP. I hesitate to make comparisons with The Rock because he's not at that level yet in any aspect of the business but he can put on a good match, he's definitely over and does remind me a little of The Rock early in his career in that it took a while for his gimmick to properly come together and for him to be truly taken seriously, but now he's got a lot of potential.
His finisher is a bit contrived though, I think to be a main eventer a wrestler needs a finisher that doesn't involve quite as long a setup and can come out of nowhere. I think MVP could main event though, he's a much better candidate than Kennedy would've been.
Wed Sep 09, 2009 7:24 pm
I hope after Breaking Point RAW will be showcasing a new set of feud. Enough of Cena-Orton please.
Marking for MVP.
Wed Sep 09, 2009 7:29 pm
If done right, they can give him a main event push slowly but surely. John Cena's original main event push would be a good example, that was done quite well and he was successfully over as a face that people wanted to see take the title from JBL; though to be fair at that point, I think a lot of people would've settled for Steve Lombardi aka The Brooklyn Brawler aka Knuckleball Schwartz aka at Doink the Clown (at one point) winning the championship from JBL. And then came the spinner belt and Superman booking, with Cena not able to fully get over as a face and irritating smarks ever since.
Wed Sep 09, 2009 7:42 pm
Exactly. Well, I hope the creative team/Vince know how valuable MVP is.

Yeah, please use the spoiler code. I like watching the shows to see the results.
And about finishers. I don't get why they don't use legends to pass on their moves to new guys or something like that. Like show a training vignette of the 2 guys working on the move and voila. Almost anything is an improvement over the playmaker.

Now if that previous link about the new belt design will really push through, I'm hoping it would appear after Breaking Point.
And c'mon, I'm already missing the Unforgiven name.

Anyone hear about the Big Show-Khali fight? Seems like Show tried to throw the first punch and Khali blocked it "like how he does on TV".
Thu Sep 10, 2009 8:35 am
It was over the shhh chop to the chest in the corner move. Apparently Big Show got a sandy vagina due to The Great Khali stealing his shit and tried to punch Khali who caught his fist matrix style. I also heard that during the kerfuffle Show slipped on a bag and got mounted by Khali who then proceeded to slap Show around like a little girl till it was broken up. As if I didn't like Khali enough already. lol.

Yeah, me too. There's also going to be a ppv called tables, ladders and chairs. These recent namechanges are not very good.

The fuck?

This needs to stop.

Now Armageddon's gone too.

I suppose the new guys want to make a name for themselves with something more original but I kind of like the idea all the same. As you said, better anything than the Playmaker.

I did. According to
this report it was over a botch, which isn't surprising when it comes to Khali.
On the subject of name changes, it looks like TLC is
replacing Survivor Series, though it could just be a mistake. I certainly hope it's just a screw-up on WWE.com's part, it's one thing to rename the B-level PPVs but the Big Four PPVs should be left alone. Of course, Survivor Series isn't quite what it used to be with all the elimination matches, save for one or two to serve as somewhat of a link to the traditional format of the card.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:57 am
Oh, it was over a botch. That might have been like the final straw, but I am sure Khali stealing the chop in the corner didn't make Show a happy camper to begin with.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:01 am
You're probably right.
Looks like the PPV listing on WWE.com was a mistake and Survivor Series is not being renamed or replaced while Armageddon has become Tables, Ladders and Chairs. Better it get renamed after a gimmick match than Survivor Series, though I still don't much care for the change.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:13 am
Badass PPV names no more.

Bring back King of the Ring.

From what I heard, it was similar to that. About Khali using moves that Show felt should be exclusively his as a "giant".

KOTR has given us so many awesome ppvs. Everytime I hear the name, I have to think about Owen falling to his death though for some reason.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 3:07 pm
The heck with a PPV being named TLC? I don't like the idea, especially if every match on the card will be a TLC.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 3:24 pm
I'm just waiting for WWE Tag Team, WWE Cage Match and WWE Lumberjack.
Thu Sep 10, 2009 3:27 pm
And WWE Singles too.
