House of the Dead might be more awkward (Goldman's voice was bizarre at times), but RE1 still wins for me with its random silences and not only hilarious acting, but hilarious writing.

That dude was great. What scared me were the people judging it. Their eyes were cold and jealous.

I disagree. Simon is the producer and a judge as well and I'm sure he was happy that he came on to a show making a huge hit for the program thinking, "Cha Ching!".
