Will Big Z be traded?

Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:32 am

There have been alot of rumors about him being traded. I think they can get a good player for him because of his expiring contract but i think if they trade him whoever they trade him to won't resign him so they can get the money from his contract and then the cavs will only lose him for 1 year if they choose to sign him. The problem with that is to me Z is the most loyal sports player in Cleveland. He has stayed with the cavs even when they sucked. So if the cavs won a championship without Z then... that would suck. Z has always been my favorite player so if he got traded a championship this year would mean nothing to me. Whats your opinions on if Z will be traded?

Shaq can only play 25-30 minutes and without Joe Smith and Big Ben, Flopperson will start at the 4. They can't and won't trade Big Z.

Anything's possible, though by the same token there's already speculation that Shaq could be traded again by midseason if things don't go well.

If it doesn't work, this basketball marriage could be annulled relatively quickly. Mr. O'Neal is in the last year of his contract, so if the experiment fails, he could be traded by February's deadline, leaving the Cavs poised to attract another big-name player the next summer, when Mr. James will be a free agent.

At this point, I'm guessing they'd prefer to make their run with both Shaq and Z on the roster.

Z will probably retire next year if they win a title.

He'd also need to re-sign before they could trade him after the 2009/2010 season is done.
