Oh, and Elton Brand was a Superstar on the Clippers(for one year). That's how he became an All Star. That's how they got to the second round. Too bad he decided to play in the NBA Europe thing instead of continuing his off season conditioning work, which was what helped him slim down before the 05-06 season and become such a beast.
Anyways, with the Clippers it's always too little too late when they get those key players for a good supporting cast like Sam Cassell, Mark Jackson, as they are too old to really do anything long term. Look at Baron Davis. He's about to be 30 and has barely played a season with LA. How does a guy shooting %40 for his career help a team? And Iverson?
I always supposed that a superstar was like top 5 in the NBA, although thinking back to Brand's best year he may well have been around top5, I recall some MVP whispers.
I agree, Baron Davis was a stupid idea, but Iverson is a major steal while his reputation is down yet still capable of:
07-08
26.4 ppg
.458 fg% (highest since 97-98)
2.99 turnovers per game (lowest ever)
.345 trey% (2nd highest of career)
82 games
Although I've since heard that Miami is interested in AI and I sure would like to see Wade and AI in the same team

Wade cant play alongside Iverson. That's a big no-no.

One of them's gotta give but I think neither of them will.

Would I like to see the clippers own the lakers???
No.

I do want to see the Lakers getting owned!

BEAT L.A.!

Nobody can play along side Iverson.

It's not often you see "Clippers" and "60 win team" in the same sentence. Unless it's something along the lines of "the Clippers were blown out once again by a 60 win team".
I think in the immediate future, the Clippers will have to settle for finishing ahead of the Lakers in 2005.

It would be incredibly sweet to see the Clippers beat the Lakers in a first round game 7 aaaaahhhh...

THAT'S AMAZING!

Like in that Phoenix series when Kobe was upset with chucking criticism and refused to shoot in game 7, that was so funny

True. If he doesn't adjust his game it will remain that way too.

Iverson's best season came in Denver with Melo. AI did this:
07-08
26.4 ppg
.458 fg% (highest since 97-98)
2.99 turnovers per game (lowest ever)
.345 trey% (2nd highest of career)
82 games
And they won a lot of games, in the supposedly difficult West, so I don't see Iverson having a problem with sharing the limelight. He just had a problem with the odd Detroit system, and that was Dumars fault for not forseeing this (although he may not have cared, had both eyes on the future). Iverson fits well with an uptempo team, he can share with anyone if its uptempo.

Seriously, stop posting his stats man. We know he had good seasons. But he is not going to have a year like that again. He's not a dominant player anymore. Accept it.
Oh, and that thing you said, comparing Iverson to Jordan, is one of the funniest things I've heard in this forum
Fri Jul 17, 2009 5:32 am
If everyone would just ignore that thing, we'd be much happier on the inside.
Ignore Shaq33 and free blowjobs for all.

I would like to see how Griffin destroys poor Gasol under the basket

I can't help it if you don't know how to read: "Of course neither Iverson nor Odom are at the level of their personally proposed parallels, but the philosophy of their relationship is somewhat of a parallelizational if paradoxical persuasion."
As for Iverson's stats, those were from 07-08. Do you really think he'd go from career stats to being "past it" in 2 years? Sounds like you are just a plain old hater
Fri Jul 17, 2009 3:53 pm
This would be a great move for the Clippers, he'll sell more tickets and the clips will still be a lottery team.

Not a hater, but now days, I see them more as realists.
AI's stats in Denver may look nice to you, but the team record doesn't. The Denver was doing just about as good even before AI went there. Theoretically, I think they could have done even better if they hadn't traded for him since Camelo and other young guys were improving from previous year.
