im quite unsure of how to actaully do it.i think i did it once by accident but im still to get good at the whole alpha thing. i just save it at a normal dds ( no colours) then drag onto the old one. lol.

after u replace the old one with the new .dds file, does the alpha also change?

We have the same problem. I am also confuse on how to edit the alpha layer.
