Re: LeBron gets dunked on; Nike confiscates tapes.

 That's brilliant right there. It's really funny how the "witness" slogan fits in so well with the situation too. What a coincidence, from "we are all witnesses" or something to "we wont allow witnesses".

I guess LeBron must have got dunked on really badly that he doesn't want anybody to see it. I heard he had to duck under the rim to avoid the dunk.

Oh whoops, I was in the act of posting when dopeboy23 made his post.

Re: LeBron gets dunked on; Nike confiscates tapes.

Thu Jul 09, 2009 8:32 pm

I agree about that pic. It's still funny.

But as I said few times already, I'm not sure if it was like that, since practically nobody has seen it personally.

Crawford said his dunk happened in the first 20 minutes of a game that lasted about two hours and did not prompt any reaction from James.

"We just went on playing," Crawford said Wednesday. "It was exciting just to be playing on the same court as him. I can see why he is so great at what he does."

I'm not denying I might be biased about it though.

It was exciting just to be playing on the same court as him, but it was even more exciting to dunk on him and knew that he got rid of all the tapes because I embarrassed him so much.

Maybe that's what he really wanted to say. JK dopeboy23.

Since I'm his fan, I don't really care what some retards are saying, but this is going too far, imo. We don't know if it's true in the 1st place. I'm not saying I support his actions, but this..

It's not going too far as that blog has been up well before Lebron-gate & shows a lot of other players getting dunked on.

Re: LeBron gets dunked on; Nike confiscates tapes.

Thu Jul 09, 2009 9:07 pm

I'm not against that blog. This part is annoying (going at certain player, even though nothing has been proved):

....oh wait, there's no video of this because Lebron or maybe Nike doesn't want anyone to see it. Pretty pathetic if you ask me and I now am officially sick of Lebron James. Thankfully, there's enough video of Lebron getting dunked on for me to post here and everytime he does get dunked on I'll post those links here too.

If you have video of any other times Lebron got dunked on just send it on over.

Let's see if Nike and Lebron try to shut this post down.

You can't blame people going after LeBron. I'm still not impressed with his "crab dribble" explanation for traveling and "I'm a winner" reason for not shaking hands. Right now he's establishing a serious reputation as being a egotistical jerk.

Neither do I, but I still believe that there should be some proof instead of typical hater attitude.

"It happened, and it was bad," said Michael Gilchrist, the top player in the Class of 2011. "That was something to see."

I didn't mean the dunk itself (everyone has been dunked on), but that tape collecting. I don't know what was the real reason of it.

Re: LeBron gets dunked on; Nike confiscates tapes.

Childish move by Nike. Getting dunked over isn't shameful. Is soccer goalkeepers bad because they let shots in? I don't think so.

Allright. Of course. We'll probably never know, but I think it's a credible story as it is.

Maybe they collected the tapes so that they could use it in LeBron's upcoming ads?

In all seriousness I think they collected the tape because LeBron told them to do so. It's pretty obvious that he doesn't want anybody else to see it for obvious reasons.

Now Nike has to get rid of Jordan Crawford.. Perhaps a car "accident"..

Re: LeBron gets dunked on; Nike confiscates tapes.

this is stupid. every part of this story is just stupid. dont want to get dunked on? retire and never step on a court again.

Frederic Weis should have contacted the president of France back in the 2000 Olympics when he got dunked over by Vince to get those tapes confiscated

indeed

on a more serious note, lebron should show some class...he got dunked on, so what? telling nike staff to confiscate the tapes and pretending it never happened so he wouldn't hurt his image (which isn't that good anyways due to the infamous 'crab dribble', and the aftermath of the ECF) is just plain stupid and childish. Skip Bayless (the guy in the video) nailed the point down perfectly

couldn't agree more with you. Lebron should just grow up. As they mentioned in the video Kobe , MJ, and many other players got dunked before. Who cares if it´s by a college kid if anything he should hype the kid up and tell people about his ability.

I can't believe people are actually discussing this.

The dunk or the fallout? I think we can all agree that the fact he was dunked on proves nothing in the grand scheme of things, because it happens to everyone. But the reaction - if true - continues a pattern of rather childish behaviour by LeBron which is a stark contrast from what we've seen from him so far. Does that really matter? I couldn't blame anyone for saying no, but since LeBron seems to be held up as the anti-Jordan or the anti-Kobe in terms of his attitude, I think incidents like thi one as well as what happened in the ECF are noteworthy in their own right.

I find the backlash against star players somewhat interesting. I remember Dwyane Wade gaining a lot of popularity and casual fans who enjoyed his highlights and touted him as a star in the making in his first couple of years. Then of course he tasted success, started getting the superstar calls and the backlash really took off. LeBron's already been getting that to a certain extent (and if you're that good, there's always going to be someone trying to cut you down) but I think this might be a pivotal point in his career from a PR standpoint.

The phony controversy. It's everywhere. And it's stupid. (And look everyone's talking about Nike and LeBron!)

It doesn't matter. Just like LeBron running out on Orlando.

It's ginned up so the media, pundits, talking heads, etc. can circle jerk as they try to top each other with visible outrage over something irrelevant instead of discussing sports since they actually don't know anything or even care about the sports. (It's the narrative!) And then they'll forget about it and move on as soon as they've exhausted themselves and some new "moral outrage" comes up. Meanwhile only fanatics who hate LeBron for some weird reason will continue to bring it up as some "important" point whenever LeBron is mentioned.

If all these fools want to wank over, gossip about and worship at the alter of celebrities they should switch to that part of their conglomeration and leave sports coverage to people who want to talk about sports.

I don't care about the fans and idiots on message boards. We already know they're stupid and they aren't getting paid.

Two completely different things to me. I loved it that he just went of the court like that. I didn't think it was an anti-social thing to do at all. Some people will say that it shows he's a sore loser, but I don't mind that. I like rivalry and emotions on the court, a little psycholical warfare may be nice too. Please don't let it turn into tennis, where the winner and the loser are going out of their way to congratulate each other with their performances all week and you had a great season so far bla bla bla..
