injury frequency is Durability. Increase it to have more injuries.

guys, just wanted to ask what is the difference between steal success and stealing?

Re: NBA 2k9 Sliders thread

I just re-read this XB360 on-line manual for 2K9

Screen Success
When a teammate sets a screen for the ballhandler, the Screen Success slider determines how
often the defender will be able to get through. Either one of two things can happen:

the defender will be screened and will bump into the screener,

or the defender will go around the screener.

Increasing the slider means that screens are successful more often. Decreasing the slider will
result in the defender being screened more often.

WTF?

They made a typo, Screen Success is pretty straight forward.

For isntance-
Defensive Awareness
Used for help defense when the player picks up the ballhandler to help out a teammate.

That's BS, imo. Increase it to 100 and you will see it has a much broader effect, increasing steals, blocks, and decreasing the opponent's FG%, and even less fouls.

SET !!!EVERYTHING!!! to !!!45!!! BOTH USER AND CPU / HOME AND AWAY

EXCEPT>>>!!!For the Rules and Gameplay Settings!!!(Must be in defaults)

END OF DISCUSSION (SERIOUSLY)

IF YOU SAY THESE SLIDERS AREN'T THE MOST REALISTIC FOR YOU, THAT COULD ONLY LEAD TO ONE OR SOME OF THESE 3 REASONS:
1. CAN'T PRECISELY ANALYZE HOW THE GAME OF BASKETBALL IS PLAYED IN THE NBA
2. HATE TO LOSE, SO YOU'LL JUST HIT THE REMATCH BUTTON
3. CAN'T FULLY UTILIZE THE CONTROL FEATURES OF THE GAME

The main you guys want to do is lower Defensive Awareness to 0-10 and On-Ball Defense to 39 for the user sliders. This way the CPU superstar PG and other cpu superstars are aggressive attacking the basket against you and look to score most of the time for their team.

Hey guys!
I got a problem. No matter which sliders I use I have ~ 60% FG . You can say that I need to lower the shooting sliders but I want my players to make open shots.
Getting to the basket is too easy. Few moves and you're under the basket. I just need sliders to make the CPU defence more effective. When LeBron gets the ball he is just unstoppable. He gets to the basket and finishes with flare.
I want a 40-50% FG. Right now I'm playing a 10 min. quarter to get at least a normal score.
Help me. Please.

There are three sliders for shooting - inside, midrange, and 3-pointers.

Increase On-Ball defense and Defensive Awareness of the CPU.

Your point being? That's normal, even in the real NBA.

I've stopped Lebron three times in a row on dunks on the first three possessions of the game with blocks at the rim by Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman, the first one being something of a double block because I couldn't tell which one got the ball. He threw the fourth one down and seemed to be satisfied with that one and the Cavs started playing a little different after that. I really liked Lebron taking it to the rack all the time. It was really challenging.

It is easy getting to the bucket, but the on-ball defense slider really helps in that regard. Along with lowering the layup slider, which makes layups more likely to miss when they are contested well and possibly increasing help defense strength will make it harder.

Re: NBA 2k9 Sliders thread

Sat Jul 04, 2009 9:42 am

So I need to get def. awarness higher, a bit on on-ball def.. and lower the layups.
Yeah.. And covering LeBron is challenging but when you play with him there is nothing CPU can do.
(I got LeBron in my 3rd season with Sacramento, and he scored 50 per game. Every game. His FG% is off the charts - 75% in the season. His FG% should be 50% or lower. And that goes out for mant superstars. They just can't miss. That's why I'm looking for new sliders to start a new association. In my 5th season I was 13-0 with 4 superstars in starting 5 - James, Rose and 2 draftees both in their 3rd year. Other teams just don't have the chance.)

Someone posted somewhere to put all sliders at 45. I have to say that I tried it and it's a great starting point. I had to lower inside shooting more and lower steals and increase on ball defense and play passing lanes among a couple other small tweaks and it plays a really nice game.

TC#10's sliders work best for me. I got realistic shooting percentages, the CPU didn't spam offensive rebounds too much. The scoreline was realistic. Best sliders I've played thus far.

only problem is the PC still gets off a few easy alley oops. I saw Jameer Nelson throw alley oops to JJ reddick and Ryan Anderson and I just had to scratch my head.
