I've always had reasons to hate the Mavericks, this is just another reason added to my list. What a theif. :shake:

But I don't think Gortat is worth the MLE ... Than again, the Rockets need some center, so I guess it would have evend out. Lets see what he does in Dallas, even if only as a backup. I guess the Magic will just sign some veterans to fill in as Howards backup ... maybe they'll make a push for Rasheed Wallace.

He's really worth the MLE. And besides, he's one of the players who blocked LeBron.

That, alone, makes a player deserve the full MLE. Go Gortat!

Why not?

Still a rough talent I guess but I like his defense, quickness and his attitude, on and off the court (pretty much always the first to stand up from the bench and applaude when the Magic scored an important basket f.i.). He's only had 4 starts, but he put up double-doubles every time. I think he could prove to be a bargain.

He played 63 games during the regular season, including three starts. In his first career start, only Dec. 15, 2008, he recorded career-highs of 16 points and 13 rebounds. He topped that rebounding total in another start in April of 2009, grabbing 18 rebounds against the Bucks. In the 2009 Playoffs, Gortat earned his first career playoff start in Game 6 of the first round against the Philadelphia 76ers. Dwight Howard was suspended for the game, forcing Gortat into the lineup. He set career postseason highs with 40 minutes played, 11 points and 15 rebounds to help Orlando clinch the series.

Gortat will be a nice compliment to Nowitzki. I'm so relieved that Erick Dampier will have reduced minutes this season, it pains me to watch that guy play for the money that he makes.

He already only plays half the game for some strange reason. Despite shooting 65%, pounding the offensive glass and being a solid defensive player. All while not taking possessions from Dirk, Terry and Howard! Gortat looks to be a younger player who does the same things for when Dampier winds down in a couple years.

Legit big men who are at least decent will quite often be overpaid, but I don't think the MLE is too bad for Gortat. His numbers look pretty modest at first glance but they're really quite good given the amount of playing time he got last season.

Damp's essentially-expiring contract could be an asset for the Mavs along with Stack's, but they have to make the right deal now, hopefully with a team who are really looking for financial relief.

I'm a little iffy on the full MLE on Gortat, but hey, cheaper than Dampier and should be a better producer (I hope).

Go sign Kidd, Donnie.

At least I wont have to see Dampier on the court as much next season, I hate almost everything about him, especially his freethrows.

Jose Barea? Wait, is he even a European? Is he talented?
