Awesome. Can't put it any simpler than that.

That's the kind of stuff they need to be trying in the NBA dunk contest instead of wearing capes and pulling out other gimmicky props.

oh totally, especially when the NBA guys are supposed to be the best athletes basketball has to offer

And there are tremendous athletes in the NBA, so I have to believe there's a couple who could pull off things like that. I'm hoping that the gimmicks will go out vogue soon.

Wow.. That's all I can say.
But there's the difference between these guys and NBA dunkers. These guys don't have to worry about potential career ending injuries, since they don't get all those millions. I'm sure there are few players in the NBA who can do something like that, but that's simply not their primary goal, especially with the risk to get seriously injured.

Some of the stuff we're seeing in the NBA contests though, particularly in terms of players jumping over one another. It'd just be nice if they tried more tricks with the ball and fewer cheesy props.

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

actually, I think these guys need to worry more about career ending injuries since they are trying to make a living off dunking. And TFB is still more of an upstart, nowhere near the money that AND1 had/has.

If I remember correctly, atleast one of them is from Toronto :D . Just Fly (Justin Darlington).

Yeah, like the general consensus, their sick, no real way around that. Recently, Darlington is being trained for high-jump on the Canadian team.

iirc they were originally out of Massachusetts
Although Millan was living in Lowell, MA when he launched, TFB consisted of less than a handful of dunkers from Millan’s home state of Florida, including Brandon “Werm” Lacue, Robert “Shayboi” Parker and Tim “Flight” Lowe. The first TFB shows took place in the Lowell Boys & Girls Club, as well as local parks and by invitation at small venues in New Hampshire. While crowds were impressed with the seemingly natural ability of TFB’s members, there was little indication that their early performances were the birth of a phenomenon.

Not to sound off but do you think they are good ball players? I have a friend of mine who is incredibly horrible in the game of basketball, he's actually a football player, but he is a very good dunker. He can do different variations of windmills and a bunch of stuff, nothing like TFB but some cool stuff.

By this I'm not saying these guys are horrible, but do you think they are any good at ball?

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

this is why i dont want this stuff in the nba, i want the league to bring in people who can really play, not people who can hit thier head on the stadium roof

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

they have some game stuff in their youtube, but its all very and1-ish, dunks and 3s

these guys shouldn't be in the NBA, but the dunk contest participants who are in the NBA, who have the same physical ability as these guys should really take notice and do some better nongimmick dunks since there is obviously still so much we havent seen yet

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

They probably are average at best, when it comes to playing real basketball. But still they're terrific dunkers.

Very creative dunks. (Y) Awesome dudes.

Possibly, but it wouldn't surprise me if their athletic prowess greatly overshadowed their fundamental basketball skills. They might be able to beat NBA players in a dunk contest but if they scrimmaged I'd say the NBA players would come out on top.

We're only talking about the dunk contest though and what NBA players might try instead of pulling out capes, phone booths and green basketballs.

just so you know man, I agree with you that the gimmicks have gone too far, but I defend the sticker dunk and the cupcake dunks as completely legit dunks

sticker dunk, i don't think the cupcake one is a difficult dunk at all (for nba players...)

practicing these dunks < practicing free throws and jumps shots so your team could win a game (or so some players can get off the bench a few minutes a game)

It's still a legit dunk, unlike the Superman "over the basket" layup.

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

well I'll take an "over the basket" layup over a dunk anyday

Looks cooler in slow-mo, more difficult, and did I mention that it looks cooler?

Re: TFB - Team Flight Brothers

Cool stuff. The dunk in very first video is cheating. The guy dunks twice in one turn. :)

Anyways, I think their stuff is cooler than what we see in All-Star contests.

meh, that one was still good compared to Nate Robinson's 50 million tries dunk, or the one where he jumped off his teammate this year....and the stupid green ball, shoes..etc
Dwight is actually doing impressive dunks (12 foot? minus the cape and phone booth, 12 foot dunk is very impressive, the cape and phone booth is just a waste of time..)

you get what i mean

Cupcake I liked, sticker I still think is a bit overrated. A 6'11" player doing a backboard tap, essentially. It was original and creative in its own way, I'll give it that.

Absolutely, I don't think anyone's disputing that. It's just stuff I know I'd like to see in the dunk contest, I wouldn't advocate players neglecting their overall game just to work on fancy dunks.

Nice Videos!!!!!!

The NBA should encourage more of this in the slam dunk contest, with Kryptonate only winning because of his gimmick of wearing green. Still, entertaining though.
