The New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced Thursday night that center Darko Milicic has been acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for guard/forward Quentin Richardson and cash considerations. “When building a team, it is invaluable to have a skilled big man such as Darko,” Walsh said.

He was obviously acquired for the expiring contract, but he'll actually live up to his potential and be a rich man's KG.

Pretty good trade between the two , The Memphis will aquire another sf who can help them in 3 point bombs and New York gets a big guy that can help them in controlling the boards

Rich man's Wilt.

Was the cash considerations thing to balance out the salaries or the value of the players?

I can't help wondering if New York will be Darko's final NBA stop.

2nd pick who was picked right before Anthony and Wade. I guess it's almost safe to say he is a bust.

Yeah right...

The word "skilled" and Darko doesn't really go with each other.

It's in preparation for getting LeBron so they will have an unstoppable 1-2 combo the league has ever seen in recent years.

What do you mean that it's going to be his final stop in the NBA? Does it mean that this will be the team that he'll stay for the rest of his career?

If Darko will develop his skills more.. Then it will a perfect 1-2 combo. Can you say that this will be the next Shaq-Kobe duo?

The fock, complement? Eddy Curry doesn't even play

I thought Eddy Curry will be traded?
Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:51 pm
Try moving that fatass with his huge 2-year player option contract.
Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:53 pm
But where? I think nobody wants to get him at this time because it's only a year from now to the 2010 Free Agent "bonanza".

You're starting to annoy me.

Well, I just thought he would be traded. Do you like him to stay in NY?

You're the one who brought up the idea of Curry getting traded and now you wonder where that would be possible. It's like answering your own question.
Don't even bother asking me because I already implied that it's hard to trade him because no team wants his non-expiring contract...
shadowgrin wrote:Try moving that fatass with his huge 2-year player option contract.
Don't push it.

Oh well, I lost this discussion.

Perhaps, but I was talking in terms of his NBA career coming to a rather abrupt end. It hasn't exactly worked out wherever's he's been and I don't think the New York fans or media will suffer his sometimes caustic attitude nor failure to live up to his potential. I'm wondering if he'd head back to Europe if it doesn't work out with New York. It's quite possible he'll just join his fifth NBA team next year and will play in the NBA for many more seasons yet. The thought just occurred to me though, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

they brought in darko to shut down shaq, ny is going all the way this season
Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:24 pm
Wow, a Shaq stopper..

Why is it that when someone gets traded everyone thinks they got the next Kobe/Lebron?
"Vince Carter...THE MAGIC ARE GOING TO WIN IT ALL!"
"RJ AND BLAIR...THE SPURS ARE BACK!"
Milicic is alright. He's not as bad as a Michael Olowokandi, but he's a Kenyon Martin -- a top-lottery pick that's never really played up to his hype because of extenuating circumstances.

Darko is cussing refs..

Old but funny as hell .
Sat Jun 27, 2009 12:35 am
Darko loves the spotlight and averages 20 and 10 for the Knicks. Then the Knicks dump him and sign Lebron.

In this case, I'd suggest it's largely sarcastic.
