The Washington Wizards have acquired Minnesota Timberwolves guards Randy Foye(notes) and Mike Miller(notes) for Etan Thomas(notes), Oleksiy Pecherov(notes) and Darius Songalia and the fifth pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, a league executive with knowledge of the deal told Yahoo! Sports.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgnsBah id guess Wolves will package 5th and 6th for 2nd...meh?

Having the 5th and 6th picks could prove more than crucial.
Now it's really just up to Minny. Do they want to keep rebuilding by drafting two very solid rookies or trade for a star player?
Hell, they could even trade up to grab Griffin, considering all the damn picks they have.
Exciting off-season for the 0.633 T-Wolves fans out there.

I Think They Should draft One Big Men (Better C i think),and Probably one SG or PG.

If they're going to field a twelve man team of F/C's they're going to have to use both picks.

2 Big Men ?
Naw , they already have
Etan Thomas , Kevin Love and Big Al .
Drafting one big men is enough .

So now the Timberwolves are up to four first round draft picks? Damn. If this wasn't such an unpredictable + inconsistent draft...the TWolves would be in for a sweet night.

does benji really need to explain it any more than he did? was it that hard to understand?
anyway, this could be nice but i also think they might try to package the picks for a proven star or up

Very solid move. Not only for the Wolves but also the Wizards imho get something back they needed. Some solid players to back up their three stars (considering Mr Hibachi a star ...)

Great trade for Wizards. I can't see them getting that sort of value out of whoever they pick at 5. Stephen Curry is not Randy Foye + Mike Miller. They look pretty good from 1 to 3/4 now with Arenas, Foye, Young, Miller, Butler, Jamison splitting the PG to PF spots. They need some more inside help though.

Now the T'Wolves are trying to get #2 Pick from Memphis
Wed Jun 24, 2009 8:25 pm
If the Gasol deal is anything to go by, the #5 & #28 picks should do the job.

It depends how scared the Grizzlies are that picking Rubio is going to lead to a complete mess, otherwise they could hold out for the fifth and sixth.
Fine deal for Washington, barring whomever ends up going fifth becoming a top star in the league down the road.
