'toine is still good for this year, as an expiring contract. And still a frequently mentioned name in your latest NBA news, for bar room brawls and street shootings.

I think I have a crush on Stefanski...
...seriously.

Clicky.Has anyone else seen this? This article popped up yesterday with about 20 minutes left before the deadline. I can can tell you for the next 3 hours I was sweating and shivering and steadily kept reminding myself that it's Stefanski now and no longer King. I'm so glad they didn't pull the trigger on this awful trade.

Not a good move at all unless Bayless was involved and even then, the Sixers should probably wait out the season before looking at making such a change.

Sixers hire Eddie Jordan as the new head coach Eddie Jordan is the new head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving Sacramento's vacancy as the only remaining coaching opening in the league.
Jordan and the Sixers have reached an agreement on a multi-year deal to reunite the former Washington Wizards coach with Sixers president Ed Stefanski after Jordan and Stefanski worked together in New Jersey.
Actually I really like this choice, hopefully he will manage to get better use of Brand than he was with Cheeks.

you cant use that which is perennially injured..and having pretty much perennial crap teams under his belt such as the kings and wizards? You sixers fans have fun missing the playoffs next year.

Fuck you Gonzo.

nothing personal man: just truth. I hope you guys do make it: i like young upstart teams. But...look at that coach and tell him he's gonna be able to handle it? my answer is posted in that thread with the "aw hell naw" obama

I know.
Eddie Jordan is a good coach for upstart teams, but can offer no more once he transforms a team into a playoff contender. Just like the Wizards.

Should I be worried because I have to keep convincing myself that it was a good signing?

Sixers won't miss the playoffs. They'll just be 6-8 for the next few years.

And we got ourself a 3-point threat
Raptors send Kapono to Sixers in exchange for EvansI really like this deal, even though Evans did solid job for us, Kapono is much better player imo. I think we got ourself a big steal out of this, snatching one of the best if not the best 3-point shooter in the NBA at very low cost. Only negative side I see from this is that we get about 1mil more to our cap, which isn't very big deal.
Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:57 am
Philly misses Korver's shooting, so they trade for Kapono..
Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:44 am
Kapono will have much more use in Philly than in Toronto. Philly gets some desperate help in the shooting department. Back in Toronto, Kapono was pretty useless, horrible on defense. Has to get called for a pumpfake-then-dribble travel atleast once every single game. Toronto gets some toughness and rebounding help thats desperately needed.
Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:25 pm
Toronto needed toughness , they got Reggie
Philly lacked shooting , they got Jason
so it's a win-win situation for both teams .
But Toronto had the edge on this trade contract-wise .
Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:13 pm
Toronto gets backup PF #4 while Philadelphia gets the best three-point shooter of all time. Hmm.

Gee, thanks for the in-depth trade analysis which you only repeated from the previous posters. At least you're not copy-pasting this time.
With the development of Maurice Speights, Evans has become expendable even if Brand gets injured during next seson.

Hey , I never read their posts yet before you posted this .

My bad. I didn't know you never read other posts.

Well, Bargnani is looking more comfortable complimenting Bosh at the 5, Kris Humphries is pretty much going to be shopped for a sack of potatoes this offseason, Nathan Jawai is absolutely horrid and Pops Mensah Bonsu is pretty much guranteed not to return after this trade. If anything the Raptors needed this acquisition. Evans is basically an older, more expensive and more effective Bonsu anyway. I like the trade. Hopefully Kapono doesn't continue to think that he's got the athleticism to blow by two guards in this league after this trade.
Wed Jun 10, 2009 2:38 pm
Say bye-bye to Humphries and Jawai next season .
Wed Jun 10, 2009 7:55 pm
I never understood why Korver was traded in the first place....they should've kept Ashton....
Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:10 pm
Yes , I'm quite confused why the 76ers traded Korver/Kutcher .
Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:28 pm
I believe it was to open up cap space, which probably helped the Sixers sign Elton Brand....now that they have Brand, they are taking back an even bigger contract....I prefer Korver slightly more than Kapono though....I think Evans will help the Raptors....he seems to help every team he ends up on....
Wed Jun 17, 2009 12:54 pm
Evans plays a Bowen-esque brand of dirty defense which always seems to help when the refs aren't watching closely...and Kapono's not amazing but on a team like Philadelphia it adds another offensive option to spread defenses thinner on more scoring threats.
