This is how to update roster without losing the stats.
Use Microsoft access to open old player file in your season save folder and copy the following files to the new player file. :o

CSFGATT-CSEJECT
CPFGATT-CPEJECT
INJURYID
INJURYDATE
RECOVERYDATE
INSEASON
WEEKLYMVP
MONTHLYMVP
WEEKGAMES
MONTHGAMES
RAWOFFVAL
OFFVALUE
DEFVALUE
PGSTART
PEJECT

I think this is how you do it, but let me know if i need more old player files to replace the new player file.

Sounds pretty good. I can't try it myself since I can't get Access 97 to work on my new PC, but as soon as I get Office 2003, I'll give it a shot. (Y)

Andrew, let's see if I got this right.

Stonecold gave the dbf field contents that you'll be needing/copying in your next season/new season?

Can you explain in detail what the fields meant and what it does to the game/season? If you don't mind, of course.

I was thinking of starting a new season using your new roster update while trying to import my previous season with their respective lineups and records.

Players.dbf Editing Guide

I guess you would have to substitute these files also:

career.dbf (this dbf is not affected by the ongoing season, right?)
coaches.dbf (for the new coaches)

But that should be about it. I'll try now to update the roster. What about the trades and signings the computer has made? They would be erased ...

Ok ... i have tried it now ... but it wont work. The players.dbf in my save folder for my dynasty has 509 data sets. The new roster update from Andrew has 698. So just copying whole rows wont work. And I dont have the time to edit every single player, thats to much work.

Or is there something i have missed?

I think you can overwrite career.dbf and coaches.dbf. The main problem is players.dbf. It's very easy to lose season data..and as you said, you would lose transactions that the CPU made.
