How is it rightfully theirs? The Jews lived there before Muslims moved in, and they were given the small sliver of land after suffering through the Holocaust, after being pushed out of the other Muslim countries, etc. EVEN if it was "rightfully" the Muslims what excuse would they have to murder innocent civilians to push them out? The Arabs have 22 countries and Muslims have how many...do they need 20,770 sq km of more land, an area smaller than New Jersey? Especially when they can live there anyway as long as they don't kill people?

Why is Israel building a wall? To help keep out terrorists that want to murder innocent civilians. It's shown to work, they've had a drop in attacks since it's started going up. Is Israel not allowed to defend itself from people that want to destroy it? Why is it wrong for Israel to protect itself? Why is it wrong for Israel to exist? Why is it justified to murder civilians if they are in Israel because you think you have a claim to the sliver of land?

i don't think that's quite right to say that, since judeism was the fist religion, so therefor the people who lived there could only have been of one religion.
there has always lived arabs there though... if you count them to muslims...

1. It's not about getting a little extra pice of land, jerusalem is one of the most holy places for the muslims... (and so on and so on...)
2. gentile people aren't allowd to purchase or lease land in Israel... that may disturb the idea of all of them living together...
+ one of Sarons section in his coalition government, the Molodet, are strongy opposed to the matter...

as i said on msn... i have a string feeling of deja vu (WWII) about this whole situation.
several things that can be matched to it

ps. i don't agree with the innocent killings ether...

[What Ariel Sharon Said]
Occupied Jerusalem: 3 October, 2001 (IAP) -- According to Israel radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael, [Shimon] Peres warned [Ariel] Sharon Wednesday that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us."

At this point, a furious Sharon reportedly turned toward Peres, saying "every time we do something you tell me Americans will do this and will do that. I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it."

The radio said Peres and other cabinet ministers warned Sharon against saying what he said in public because "it would cause us a public relations disaster."

It's nothing like World War II. Israel couldn't take invade every country in the world, they aren't rounding up the Jews and putting them into camps and they aren't expanding their terrority they're making it smaller.

Jerusalem is a holy place for many religions, so why should the Muslims control it? Should it not be open and uncontrolled (I think it generally is)?

A Hebrew kingdom established in 1000 B.C. was later split into the kingdoms of Judah and Israel; they were subsequently invaded by many, lastly the Byzantines. The Arabs took the land from the Byzantines during in 634-40 A.D. It remained under Muslim rule (Turks took over in 1516) until the end of World War I in which it was a British mandate. Jewish colonies had multiplied in the late 19th Century and after a 1897 call for a Jewish state, Arthur Balfour promised support for a Jewish homeland in which non-Jews would have their rights protected. A 1937 British proposal called for an Arab/Jewish state seperated by Jerusalem and Nazareth. The Arabs opposed this demanding a single state with Jews in the minority, the British caved offering a single state with limited Jewish immigration. In 1947, after a boom in Jewish immigrant post WWII, the U.N. voted to partition. Jordan and Egypt invaded Israel but Israel defeated them. Jordan meanwhile annexed the areas designated for the Arab state of Palestine. After Syria, Jordan and Egypt mobilized in 1967 after an Israeli retaliation threat to Syrian border raids, Israel struck in the Six Day War. Israel insisted Jerusalem remain a unified city but the Arab states refused. Everyone knows the rest...
