Given it wasn't made as yet (unless I missed something in my excitement)...let's get this topic semi going.
One half is ready to go...
Both matchups seems kickass, Dwight being an awesome big man (people know of my big man mancrushes and on the other hand Lebron going head to head against Kobe.
Naturally I'm rooting for LA, but this is going to be an interesting NBA Finals!!

You're supposed to make the thread after the matchup is finalized and piss some of the more easily rattled veteran members off with unfunny poll choices, a$$clown.
Go Orlando!
Sun May 31, 2009 12:59 pm
Looks like Orlando and LA.
Sun May 31, 2009 2:05 pm
Edited the title for more convenience.
An interesting Finals as Orlando finally made it for the first time since '95. And Pietrus is a revelation.
While this is the Lakers' 30th Finals appearance, says Marv Albert.
Let's do this. Would you mind if I post in blue?

That's right LeBron. Fix Kobe up because him and Dwight are going at it for a ring.

Oh , That's Sweet .

i watched the last match between orlando and cleveland. howard clearly dominated the post while james sucked ass at the fourth quarter. this will definitely be a hyped match. i wanna see how the lakers would defend dwight.

Magic in 6.
But don't be surprised if it's Magic in 5. (I'm mostly saying that because I'm getting game 5 tickets soon and really want to see them win it right there and then)
I got both Lakers and the Magic in 6 right... so this win will only make sense.
666 is the number of the beast, after all.
Sun May 31, 2009 3:26 pm
Lakers in 6. Kobe, Lakers even more focused than last year.
Sun May 31, 2009 3:32 pm
Lakers in 6 games. More of a wish than a prediction.
Sun May 31, 2009 3:56 pm
It depends which lakers show up. If i the lakers with odom and gasol playing as they have the past couple games? Lakers in 5-6. If not and kobe's by himself scoring 35+? Magic in 6

Hey guys !
I'm back travelling from the Future .
That was a lot of fun especially finally watching an actual NBA Game !
I got frontcourt tickets and guess who was the guys sitting besides me !
LeBron and Tiger Woods !
Before tip-off Bron-Bron shouted " Beat L.A. ! Beat L.A. ! " he was so funny and loud !
Well Tiger was quiet as usual .
But Wow ! Amway was so loud that night .
Oh by the way , here's one of the photos I shot that night . . .
Magic in 5

As I picked before playoffs started, Lakers over Magic in 6. The difference between Cavs & Lakers is that Lala's have forward who can defend Hedo & Lewis (Ariza & Odom), so there's not that clear cut mismatch. Gasol & Bynum will do better job on Howard than Z & others. Although Fisher is a chump, Alston isn't much better.
The two keys to this series will be the bench play (Pietrus needs to at least continue his current level of play & contain Kobe. For Lakers, it's Odom & co getting it done) and the battle of the frontcourt (Howard/Lewis/Turk vs Bynum/Gasol/Ariza/Odom).
I think in the end, the Lakers' experience will get them over the line. I hope I'm wrong though. I will be supporting the Magic the whole way

Magic in 5. Just... feels right. Where is the poll?
Sun May 31, 2009 5:31 pm
Lakers in 6.. Magic are playing great but I don't think they can handle the Lakers once they set their minds on winning the championship.. Puppet Kobe can ask puppet LeBron where his "4" championship rings are next season..

WHY NOT US ? WHY NOT NOW ?
Remember 1995
Lakers in 4
Howard going to Houston in 2010 (Shaq went to LA after 1995' disaster)
Do not know who is the "penny" of this story

Magic in 6.
Lakers have a lot of big bodies to put on Dwight - Gasol, Bynum, Odom and why not Mbenga and Powell. I expect a lot of threes by Turkoglu, Lewis, Lee and Pietrus.

Didn't we have this Finals last year? The leagues best defense (and DPOY) combined with a "top ten" offense based around bombing in threes, essentially only one play run to perfection, and multiple attackers/depth against the Lakers. Last year the Lakers didn't have Bynum, this year he stinks. Oh, and Derek Fisher apparently lost his ability to shoot. (Or defend, or do anything that resembles playing basketball. Speaking of which, Vujacic.) And you say Orlando has a go-to "Kobe stopper" who also has found his range? (And the Eastern team has an underrated big man who'd be a starter and fan favorite on about 20 of the teams in the league? Awesome.)
Sir Charles' prediction doesn't seem insane at all.
If anything should kill the Lakers, it's Phil Jackson's love of players he "knows" and so you see guys like Derek Fisher and Luke Walton out there killing the team just when they should be putting the game away. I've never seen a team as lucky as these Lakers who are putting the worst possible lineup outside of Kobe and Gasol out there, yet Kobe and Gasol get hot right as the rest of the team seems determined to kill it. (Outside of the Pistons of course.)
At least this won't be as soul crushing as Cavs-Lakers would've been. Even though not as great as Magic-Nuggets would have been.

I'm looking forward to see what Shannon Brown can do, he's had a knack for being in the right place at the right time, just when the Lakers needed some bench production. Hopefully he can step up when Fish isn't playing well.

You mean always?
Brown has remade himself though. And that's why he's back in the league instead of out of it. He added muscle and discovered defense. He was a poor man's DeJaun Wagner before. (And that's saying a lot.)

Added a poll now, and yes, I'm trying to be funny.
