Better off Ted anyone?

Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:44 am

Has anyone caught this show yet? I can't say that I'm hooked, but it makes me laugh with it's off key humor.

It doesn't suck, making it one of the best shows on television. Not terribly impressed but its watchable.

I thought it was very decent. Nothing phenomenal but a good half an hour to spend.

another good solid show last night, anyone else catch it?

I've been watching all them and been really enjoying it so far. It has the kind of detached, absurd humor that I like.
Pleasantly surpised overall.

Just watched the first 6 episodes and I think I can say I'm hooked. So far so good.

aaaaaand season finale. seemed like a regular episode with no cliffhangers or stunning happenings, which isn't a problem, still a very funny episode, just, I know this show was on thin ice with ABC so I hope we get a 2nd batch of episodes in the fall at the very least.

but whatever, I am 3 weeks away from new episodes of Wipeout

It wasn't the season finale. It's just the last episode ABC has scheduled to air. There are six or seven unaired episodes. They don't have Scrubs to pair with it anymore so they've pulled it for now.

They will probably be pairing it with The Goode Family. The ABC higher ups are said to be quite fond of Ted.

well that's good, and just looked it up on wiki, so I guess this is a half season like southpark for more episodes to come back later

Re: Better off Ted anyone?

Well, I don't know about that. The South Park guys decide their own season, since they have the ability to do so.

These episodes already exist. This was just an instance of ABC pairing the show with Scrubs to get viewers, and Scrubs ended and they have no other half hour show to pair with Ted until The Goode Family comes on in a couple weeks. If they air Ted for an hour they'll run out of episodes before The Goode Family even hits leaving a gap in the schedule after it. Not to mention, the ratings aren't incredible or anything.

If The Goode Family bombs though, Ted will be gone. They'll probably burn off the rest of the series, they already paid to shoot it and it wouldn't kill to air the last few episodes. Plus, as I mentioned, the higher ups seem to like the show. If they're willing to give Scrubs a ninth season without any of the stars and its poor performance in the ratings, they'll probably give Ted another shot. It's a brilliant show.

I saw both last night and tonight they're already promoting The Goode Family, although not the best spots. They need to make more clear it's from Mike Judge and will basically be KOTH from a different perspective.

ABC is bringing back "Better off Ted" for a summer run, while "Surviving Suburbia" couldn't survive its new time slot.
Alphabet still had six episodes of "Ted" left from its midseason run earlier this year; those segs will now air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. starting June 23, behind new reality competish "The Superstars."
The Victor Fresco-produced laffer, from 20th Century Fox TV, then returns in midseason, where it will be paired with "Scrubs." Alphabet ordered 13 more episodes of "Ted" for next season.

Surprised they've killed Suburbia already, even though I projected Ted as a Goode pair. The lone episode i watched wasn't bad, I didn't know there had already been five episodes. I wouldn't mind it coming back to flesh out the rest of the Goode run after Ted is done. (Or actually now that I think about it. Suburbia would take up the rest of the stint before Ted.)

The first of the two unaired episodes is out there on the internets. The other will be next week. They're airing in Aussieland.

They are not planned to ever air here, so you need to use the internets to see them.
