Tough to lose like that but I had visions of the Celtics getting revenge with a more crushing defeat. Taking a game in Chicago would be great; when it comes to the series I just can't be that optimistic because Boston is still that much better even without KG but a win on the road and one at home to force it to six would be nice.

It makes me optimistic though, to think that we only lost on a Ray Allen three, when our best player only scored 10 points.. (Derrick)

It helps when someone else scores 42 though. ;) I agree that it seems promising but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. I'm just enjoying that they've carried themselves pretty well and got the split, I'm hoping for a little more magic in Chicago but I'm not convinced it will be enough.

Huge night by Gordon. If Rose was a little better we might had a better luck.

And this is a sign for the next year i hope

Hopefully it will lead to the key players being brought back, though if some marquee names end up on the trading block that's certainly worth exploring.

Leon tore is ACL...he's done for the playoffs...

Already without Kevin Garnett for possibly the remainder of the playoffs, the Boston Celtics will have to make due without backup forward Leon Powe as well.

Powe suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee in Boston's Game 2 victory over Chicago on Monday and will not play again this postseason. The injury is unrelated to the right knee sprain that sidelined Powe in March for almost a month.

its funny, every other team acts the same way, unless they have already given up on the season. another funny thing is i have yet to meet anyone who plays ball who feels like they should lose a game now and then. "hey paul how about that loss tonight?" "well we were due no big deal"

I already expressed my disappointment that the tub of lard that is Big Baby droppped 26 :P

Leon Powe is out now? That leaves them with just Big Baby, Perkins and Mikki Moore. I think Boston might be the slight underdogs now!

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Tough break for Powe, regardless of what it could mean for the Bulls' chances to have more success or do the unthinkable in the series I don't like seeing that happen to anyone.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:32 am

Rivers said Powe hurt himself on a spin move but stayed on the court trying to play.

"He played 3 minutes with a torn ACL," Rivers said. "That says so much about Leon Powe the person."

Ouch.

Ouch indeed, that would be excruciating. :?

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

celts still beat the bulls but sadly the runs ends there. sucks to see the defending champs (be it the celts or not) not really get a chance to defend the title but instead have everyone know they wont win again thanks to thier best player being out.

I've read that KG's delaying surgery just in case, so if they can get far enough with him perhaps he can return and be effective enough to give them a chance.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

while the bulls set a team record blocks- boston frontcourt killed the bulls last nite.. probably the X factor in the game

as a bulls fan, you have to think they could win this series. even with rose and hinrich in early trouble they could have won this game. even if Ray Allen got his groove back and Big Baby can continue to hit perimeter shots, Chicago will always be in the games since Boston has no depth to maintain a big lead/put the game out of reach.

for the 2nd straight game, VDN burned his timeouts too early. we can only hope he'll figure it for the rest of the series he will need a timeout late in games.

next 2 in the united center. time for some home cooking for the bulls who seem to grow more confident game to game

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Something that sounds so silly, hilarious and stupid - the Celtics depend on Scalabrine, the only other player capable of playing under BBD and Perk, since Moore isn't like an NBA player right now. They could go small though, but that's not very succesful and doesn't get you deep into the playoffs. Bill Walker probably can't handle the position either, it's too tough and Doc doesn't trust him too much, I guess.

Funny nickname on Perk! I also root for the Bulls. Celtics will get their ass kicked when they lose to the Bulls in the first round, just like what Chicago did to Miami in '07 Playoffs.

Not necessarily that I'm a Bulls fan, but I just root for them because I hate the Celtics. I want to see the reaction of the Big Three should they lose to the Bulls in the first round. (Sorry Celtic fans) :D :D :D :D

They certainly could win the series and perhaps I'm giving the Celtics a bit too much credit in spite of their play and injury problems but for the moment I still don't have much confidence that they will win the series. I guess I'm just a bit of a pessimist, though low expectations certainly have their upside when they're exceeded. In any case, go Bulls! ;)

Rondo is just ripping. Crazy... I think he has a good chance at triple doubles if he concentrate more on assisting after half time. Hope this one ain't gonna be a blow out.
