@juza and chinoy

ok guys, if there are no plans for 3.0.9 release soon, can you at least update and re-release 3.0.8 with correct accessories for star players?

That is true. Why do you guys always relegate the work to chinoy or juza. Why don't you do it yourself and if you want to submit it to juza so he can choose whether or not to update it if you are that desperate.

Also is there anyway to increase your staff budget? I got a scout who is on 3mil for 3 years and his rating is D...If I fire him will his contract still count for 3 years if no-one picks him up? Does anyone know a good workaround for this cause I need to get some good prospect scouts but the budget is full and the head coach is on 7 mil for 4 years and the scout is 3 mil and that's the whole budget. Bloody annoying.

Hire a trainer and a scout at the minimum value.

Hello everybody!

Firstly, i wanna thank for juza for converted this great roster to pc for us. I had to made some changes with player ratings for example Derrick Rose or Brandon Roy. But it wasn't a hard work...

I have a big problem. I play on pro level with 12 min. quarters and my rotation is very real i think. For example: Dahntay Jones is the starting shooting guard for Denver, but he plays only 14-15 minutes, while JR Smith plays 34-35 mins/game. I made the player roles to real, too. But, and this is my problem, the computer doesn't make the correct substitutions. (I turn the subs method to rotation, not fatigue.) For example: The starting five of the Boston Celtics play the whole first quarter, the cpu doesn't substituite Powe, House etc. Only if one of the starters has 2 quick fouls, then the cpu substituites of course.

I don' know what to do with this problem, so I would thank if anyone has an answer for this in this topic or in private message.

Thank you!

Ciao

Did you use the official patch? If I'm not mistaken, the rotation glitch exists in the unpatched version.

Hi!

Thank you for answering.

No, I didn't. I don't know what patch is needed for this exactly... Can somebody tell me or show me the link?
And one more question. When I install this patch, I have to uninstall my "newlook" roster and my settings? So, is this patch works with my edited roster or I have to start the install from the begining? (Install the patch, then put the juza-made roster and settings to my save foldes.)

Sorry for asking too much, but I'm not a big gamer...

Juza,i made some changes in the sliders section to balance the stats in all-star and superstar level especially Free Throws,Rebounds,Blocks,3pts:
NBA Rules:Blocking:60 Shooting:55
Attributes:Cpu Blocking:50 Vertical:50 Human Finish Strong Inside:50
Tendencies:Cpu 3 pts:40(first click) Commit Fouls:0 Human Commit Fouls:100
Rebounding Both for Hum/Cpu at 50.

All others as provided by juza.

With the above changes some things are now gone:
1) Many free throws.I know that many players love to drive inside. That resulted always to cpu shooting fouls with same animation in general.Setting shooting foul at 55(or even 50) and vertical at 50 and commit fouls at 0 results to FT stats remaining accurate, not any drive is a foul now, you'll see much more animations under the basket.
2) Cpu Blocks increased. Was way too low.
3) 3pts shots corrected. Now if a player is in cold streak will not take the shot from 3pt range even if he has enough space. No more 27+3pts tries.
4) Cpu free throws increased a little. This one is a tricky one.If we lower shooting fouls cpu goes to the line few times. So we raise hum commt fouls to 100,
5) Hum discouraged to cheese.Lowering blocking fouls and leaving charging fouls to 100 results to an increased number of good positioning by cpu.

Hope you'll test these juza and give some feedback. Thanks!

Juza pointed out his foul settings are good for him because he doesn't love to drive inside. I don't either. But I am very curious about the animations. I haven't had too many problems with being fouled all the time going to the basket because I usually only drive if there is a open lane and if I am able to use the triple threat or blow by to get past. However I will try your settings and hopefully I will see a bigger range of animations as it'll make the game more visually dynamic and fun.
Could you please let me know what the vertical stat changes? I'm guessing it affects rebounding, blocking, maybe lay-ups and dunks? If that is the case and it does affect many aspects of the game I would imagine that it would be bad to set cpu at 0 but really I am having no problems and the gameplay is great. Just curious.

I won't try the rebounding at 50 though because with juzas rebounding settings I am getting realistic offensive and defensive numbers. Also wasn't cpu blocking attribute at 47? You increased it to only 50 and you said it was way too low before. Also I put hu commit fouls to 70 down from 85 because I was sending the cpu to the foul line over 20 times a game. But that is my playing style and defending style I guess.

One thing I'm also curious about is that the old slider settings has shooting foul 85 (i think) and cpu commit fouls at 55 (i think) and you have shooting at 55 and commit fouls at 0. How can you get the same amount of free throws with such a large difference in settings? Do you drive to the basket a lot? I can't put down shooting foul because I take a lot of mid range jumpers and low post moves and so I need the fouls to make it realistic.

@Orlando: Yes cpu blocking attribute was at 47.The crucial slider for more blocks is vertical which i increased +50.I also decreased hum finish strong inside. Now if someone likes to drive inside he must make use of right stick to avoid humiliation.I repeat!:the changes i've made are specifically for players that drive A LOT.But also for players that don't want to see over and over the same collision animation when fouled. With shooting foul 85 when you drive 99.9% you are fouled. At 55 there is great balance, you'll think it twice if you want to go inside, you'll be scared.
I lost my last game against the timberwolves(i was sacramento) 109-106.cpu had 18-23 Ft,me 22-27 ft with the slider changes i mentioned above.I think we get a good amount of Ft because of the roster of juza and the individual settings and tendencies of players. So after extensive testing i came to a conclusion that these changes are overall good.i'd like you to try them and tell me what you think.
p.s. I don't drive a lot.i follow play patterns and play with patient and love mid range shooting too.

Orlando Magic crashed me 116-96 but i feel satisfied because this roster has definitely 'fixed' the game for me.Superb stats for another game.Orlando had 32/39 FT.Kings had 19/27.In this game there were 6 over the back fouls, one 5 secs to the basket and one clear path foul.Great.

just working in my free time on a new "shoot off dribble" scale and new dunk ratings.i'm trying many sets and results are quite impressive cause i can say now there's more open space on the court, players shot mid range jumpers constantly. my only doubt is to find a good balance between many parameters like "attack the basket" and "finish strong inside". this will be only a huge update without fixing nothing but this.

I saw that at OS juza. This shoot off dribble seems somewhat strange for me.It is clear that if a player has space he will shoot off dribble.BUT: Increasing much more mid range shooting will completely break inside game.In NBA defenders only leave space to known bad shooters. It's not difficult to implement more mid range shooting. It's difficult to have accurate stats if doing this.

thank you juza... but please try to fix players' accessories at least for star players (iverson, allen, anthony...)...

Hi guys,

I like your roster very much, has an incredible game feeling (with some adjusted sliders in superstar) and great stats in sim mode.

but i have a little problem, i don't know if someone can help me:

when i run association mode with a fantasy draft at the beginning, most of the salaries go insane and every team is far beyond the cap. so after season 1, almost no team can afford to sign rookies and many star players remain on the fa list, because they don't resign and no other team can't afford to sign them. I just opened a thread in 2k general ( viewtopic.php?f=86&t=64740&p=1038035#p1038035), but the only one to respond so far told me this would be no prob with ur roster... I'm using it since v 2.2 or so, and can't solve this prob.

So: am I doing something wrong or can't this bug be fixed so far?
has anyone an other solution?

thanx in advance (Y)

"It is clear that if a player has space he will shoot off dribble". Not really. If a player has space he will stop and set himself for the j. Players shoot off the dribble if they don't have space or time to stop. You would always want to square up to face the basket for a jump shot. You see it when players come off successful screens or if the defender goes under the screen then the player would stop set and shoot. You only shoot off the dribble if you have a defender trailing. Most of the time shooting off a dribble is a forced shot.

@Orlando : They why the fuss?I see tons of this 'shoot off dribble'.cpu calls a play,if the shooter pass by a screen automatically shoots. Not a static J,an off dribble like off balance shot.Is something i don't get?Anyway,i think game is almost perfect now. It's impossible to have a perfect sim bball.

Hmmm. I'm interested in more shoot off dribble jumpers. It's almost always just pass to the open man or drive to basket. When shoot off dribble jumpers rarely occur, it's almost always that retarded fade away.

I also have the problem with players shooting off the dribble. Most of the time they just catch and shoot even if they don't have the room for it. I close out well when a player gets the ball in space but instead of forcing him to put the ball on the floor he shoots anyways and nearly always misses. I don't know about the game but I do know that players only shoot off the dribble if they beat their man or they want to get style points. I remember iverson loves shooting the ball off the dribble and that is why his fg is always .400 which is just shit. I like him but if you are going to attempt all those fgs then obviously you are going to score a lot. Doesn't mean your team is going to get anywhere.

Of course good players can create their own shot off the dribble at the right time which is valuable

back to the origin...after many and many attempts..i definitely stated that this roster has to to be played with this little sliders tweaking ( sliders not mentioned must be kept at default):

cpu / user

close 35 / 40
med 48 / 47 ( or 49 / 48 : what suits best for you)
3pt 52 / 51
layup 46 / 46
hands cpu only 0
take 3pt shot 43/43
commit fouls 0 / 100
stamina 45 / 45
gamespeed 50

nba rules:
100
60
60
60
100

i'm just changing many FB on coach profiles cause there are no much fast break.

it's amazing the fact that we spent so much time trying to create the best gameplay...it was already a good gameplay, now with those little adjustment it' incredibly realistic and funny to play..trust me.
i noticed how the gamespeed affects the game pace ...setting speed to 50 CPU offense is less predictable cause ball movement is faster.
