Haha! So much for being out from Heat's "Boring Style". What are you going to call Toronto style now? "Frustrating Style"?
It seems like Nash really made him play better in Phoenix.
Sun Mar 15, 2009 8:48 am
Except for his great play before Nash even got to Phoenix.
It probably has more to do with Phoenix's fast pace than anything. Before he got to Miami, Marion had never played for a team that wasn't in the top ten (usually top five) in the league in pace. His time in Miami was spent on a team in the bottom third of the league, and Toronto is still below average in pace.

I see. Yeah, I remember young trio of Suns used to be Amare, Marbury, and Marion. They were fun to watch. Thanks for clearing that up, Benji.

Teams should really fine players more for making such moronic statements to the media.
Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:50 pm
You can't really fine someone you've just traded away though. Besides, they're entitled to express their opinions, no matter how bizarre they may seem or how much we may disagree with them.

Marion is just mad because now he has to play in a cold city and he hates cold cities
Mon Mar 16, 2009 5:49 pm
yeah, but very soon he would leave this cold city, as his contract expires this summer, so i guess he sing with some "hot" city again

:)

Some things are more likely than others, of course. The
speculation is that he'd be lucky to fetch a deal with around $8 mil this coming offseason. I think he's got too much talent and ability to play well in the right situation for there not to be a possibility of landing a bigger deal even with all the economic issues but if he was hoping for a bigger deal than the one he's on now that certainly seems unlikely. He's got a better shot at the big bucks elsewhere than other free agents to be this offseason (Ben Gordon for example) but it's not a good time to try and leverage a team into overspending. Economy aside, 2010 is still where it's at so long as the marquee names don't sign extensions.

He could take a one year deal somewhere, try to win a championship and then hold out for 2010 too. No idea what kind of teams will be assembled by then.
Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:15 am
He certainly could but he'd still have some stiff competition for the big bucks. It's definitely a possibility, though perhaps the lure of a more secure long term deal that's still fairly lucrative will prove more appealing. It'd be the safer route but he's young enough and good enough to play his way into a bit more money so who knows?
