They have a veteran center and a talented rookie center, jermaine oneal, beasely, moon, chalmers and wade. Do you think that miami needs anything elese to win another title? In my opinion i think they need a small forward who can defend.

Do you think that the miami heat has the perfect team?
No.
a talented rookie center
Eh?

Do you think that miami needs anything elese to win another title?
Season ending injuries to:
LeBron James, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Dwight Howard, Joe Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, (large breath) Tim Duncan, Carmelo Anthony, Yao Ming, Brandon Roy, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash.
The Heat need upgrades at every position except Shooting Guard if they want to win another title. Chalmers and Beasley could form part of a good nucleus one day, but they arent ready yet.
Do you think that the miami heat has the perfect team?
Miami Heat Win/Loss Record - 2008-2009 season:
30 wins and 26 losses. Not zero losses.
Miami Heat Team FG% - 2008/2009 season:
45.2% Field Goals made. Not 100%
Miami Heat Opposition PPG - 2008/2009 season:
96.69 PPG. Not Zero PPG.
So therefore, no. No. No. No. No, they are not perfect.

Point taken, Miami is far from perfect. What makes you think Miami is perfect?
Sat Feb 28, 2009 6:09 pm
It's been covered quite accurately and succinctly already but no, they don't have a perfect team and as they are neither a serious championship contender this year nor close to it, they need a lot more to win another title in the near future.

When I saw the topic title, I thought it was another Diddy epic. Absurd; just absurd.
Its obvious that the Jazz are the only team that is sheer perfection.

I can't believe Diddy isn't here arguing against all of you.
Sun Mar 01, 2009 2:04 am
Perhaps he realised that Miami isn't a perfect team so he didn't even bother to argue.

If the Thunder trade for Chandler resulted, they would have a better team than Miami

Far feom perfect there has never been a perfect basketball team

Oh yes, nothing like shimmys and no arc 3s to turn a team into contenders

To his credit, it did work out once...though I would suggest other players had a larger hand in that outcome.

as a true miami heat fan i can reply, that Heat has a perfect team for .... future:
1. D-Wade one of the 3 best players in NBA
2. we have 3 Very talented players, that all would be stars or good role players in next few years in Beasley, Chalmers, Cook
3. We have JO's expiring contract that would bring us in 2010 a true superstar
4. we have good chamistry
so we ain't contenders, but we could be next season or most definatelly in 2010-2011
Mon Mar 02, 2009 11:51 pm
The Heat are a semi-decent team until Wade's injuries kick in again...

1- Wade is one of the 3-5 best players in the NBA, true
2- Very talented? Well... I will only pick Beasley because he has potential but he needs to prove it in years to come
3- Miami isn't the only one with a big expiring contract, almost the 30 teams are doping that so there's no insurance that you will get "a true superstar". Maybe happens what happened to the Bulls in 2000 when there was a great pool of FA and they only got Ron Mercer
4- Why so sure? Remember Shawn Marion and his comments?

I'm watching the Heat-Cavs game and it is just beautiful how the Heat are playing.
I must say, after 2006, I thought the future for the Heat would be grim as several players on its roster were retiring or near retirement and their rookies were horrid.
Their roster has been largely revamped, their chemistry is fairly decent and Wade's successful return most certainly does not hurt.

Yes, with that cap space the Heat can resign Wade.
Or hopefully sign a true superstar if Wade decides to bolt the team.

Fitzy would kill you if he was here.

that's it, that's what i'm talking about! miami has it again, JO and moon briliantly came in our team and doing great together with wade and chalmers! we should win that game, but still it shows that Heat can play very well against the best team in the East!

The amount that Wade re-signs for also has to be taken into account and that's probably going to push $20 million, which is higher than his current deal. That would still leave the Heat with a lot of cap space in 2010 but they'd only have five players under contract so a decent amount of that cap space would be taken up on filling out their roster, not to mention anyone they sign between now and then (since they'll currently only have 10 players under contract as of this offseason). Managed properly they should have enough to make a run at a quality free agent in 2010, certainly someone high profile if not a top tier player at least.

No, i don't mean a good team, I meant a good lineup for the future? I know they're not good now, and yes they do need several pieces to the puzzle, but maybe for the future? And yes several players on their team need a lot of work in certain areas, but of course for now, no, but for the future?
Wed Mar 04, 2009 12:22 pm
If you meant are they on a good track for the future then yes, things are looking good for them as they rebuild and re-tool.

if anyone of you watched Heat-Cavs games, it's pretty clear that heat has chemistry, O'Neal, Moon, Wade, Rio playing good in the starting lineup! beasley and Rio need to be more consistend, and you can't deny that they are very talented players! d-wade at his prime, and we have a very balanced roster, so give Easy and Rio a year with Wade and JO, Haslem you will see a contender next season! hope that luther head , which just choosed miami to sing with, help our team at point and developes in to a good point guars as long as mario chalmers! too bad that this forums has only a few seriously talking members! too bad!
