I'm not quite sure what's going on here although I went back to read the comments on page 1, but I think the best solution available would be for everyone to calm down a bit and talk things through with each other politely. I'm not trying to be a hero or a smart ass here, but if you stop and think about it for a few seconds, it sounds a little bit immature to fight/argue over a game. OK, patching is passionate in many senses but it all comes down to a game we play to entertain ourselves from a stressed day at work or whatsoever. I think it's definitely possible and necessary for everyone here to untight the situation by calming down and take things slowly. Once that happens, conflicts will start to unfold and all should be settled. :)

It's not even like that man

I was going to work with showfom for his site, putting off my existing projects. I talked with him for a long while, he sent me the tool, gmail didnt like it, my computers didnt like it for whatever reason. Next morning I emailed him saying im out, Im taking it as a sign that this wasn't meant to be. I made this post to inform everyone on the situation and to vent out my issues. I wasn't trying to call him out, I wasn't trying to single him out.

Showfom hasn't directly called me a bad person. He did say he was hurt by my situation but with 2k9 taking up ~10 gigs or whatever and only 10 CAT spots, it still isn't a very ideal game for me to work on for my kind of mods. If we could change the numbers the teams use, well then, yea that is a different story.

Anyway, all of this has gotten blown out of proportion. Everyone just sit back and wait to see if showfom will look for others to work with or release the tool.

Re: The IFF Tool Situation & History

So... Enough of this pointless discussion... back to "IFF Tool Situation & History" title of this thread...

I downloaded the video tutorial from nba-2k.com (2kcn), and besides the filename came like "IFF editor.wmv.asx", i renamed it to just "IFF editor.wmv", opened it and ir worked just fine.

The Showfom Tool seems to be really easier and more stable than IFFSET. The tutorial uses an edition of Rockets Court as an example and worked without problem, and in English.

So putting this whole misunderstaning aside, i REALLY hope this freaking tool come out soon... but like i sad before, i hope 2K releases it's own iff tool, so it would put an END on this whole thing about programmers rivalry, tools that will only be released if somebody agrees to make patches for 3th part website, AND, more than that, on tiring discussons like this one on this thread.

For those who spend time and effort trying to make this great game even better for everyone FOR FREE, AND WITH NO CONDITIONS, I SALUTE YOU ALL.
Cheers
