New York – The Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons have rumoredly discussing a trade right after the All Star Weekend that would reunite Allen Iverson and his former team, Philadelphia 76ers, league source still finalizing this rumors.
The proposed deal, still materializing, would send Iverson to the 76ers for Donyell Marshall, Kareem Rush, and Andre Miller plus three future round draft picks.
76ers executives are willing to get back Iverson since he is still struggling and figuring out what's his role in Detroit, The source said this may put the biggest trade ever in NBA history as remembered Iverson doesn't want to play for the Sixers then. The other factor for this trade is the Indiana Pacers wherein, as another team for this trade, would want to send Troy Murphy, Marquis Daniels, and cash considerations for Iverson.
The Sixers office wants Iverson for his leadership prior to playoffs where the Celtics, Cavs, and Magic are the teams to beat for the Eastern Conference. If happens, the two AI's will put a lot ofdamage in the East that may put them into step for championship.
Iverson, 34, has a lot of expectations in Detroit following the blockbuster trade that send Chauncey Billups to Denver but since the team is in trouble right now, Joe Dumars may opt for this trade to be done for loosening team's salary cap. Detroit is looking for the class 2010 free agency as they already trade in Alex Acker just recently. As the Spurs also have interest in Detroit’s Rasheed Wallace, a Pistons source says they may also give up him for more flexible 2010, that means Detroit may raise their white flag for the current season in preparation for the team's future.
Nevertheless, Joe Dumars wants to make the playoffs and believes that they can still progress with Iverson on the roster.
Iverson was still in All Star team that includes him into the starting line up but a lot of critics call this as a bogus voting.
Any thoughts?
for me its great to see the original AI in Philly..

Seems like a step backwards for Philly, seeing as how trading Iverson in the first place has allowed them to groom Iguodala as the future of the franchise...or so it would seem. Still, with the Brand signing not working out thus far and his injury/surgery putting him out the rest of the season and Iverson not working out in Detroit, it's a scenario that's perhaps worth entertaining at the very least. Of course, the other issue here is Iverson's contract which expires this coming offseason. Perhaps Dumars is more wary of their ability to sign one of the marquee players in 2010 and would like to put a Plan B into effect. Getting Miller when Stuckey is emerging seems like overkill but if such a deal went through I suppose he wouldn't be around long term.

No...
why the fuck would detroit even think about considering this?
Tue Feb 17, 2009 1:37 am
detroit should not do this. they already messed up by letting billups go don't ruin it with AI

What the hell this article sounds like it was made up by some regular guy. The grammar and everything sounds nothing like a real writer. Where's the link for this article? But if it's true it would be great for Philly and AI, and Detroit would definitely benefit with a point guard like Miller b/c hes closer to billups in the playmaking department than Iverson, but can't score or shoot like either of them.

It is a good trade for Detroit if they get Andre Miller in return.
He will be a better option as a floor general than Iverson and Stuckey... And for 3 first round picks??
It's a steal! but... they will surrender cap space for next year

I'd love to see Iverson back in the Sixers, but after that trade Philadelphia hasn't got any real point guard, as Iverson isn't one. This might have sense if the Sixers would make one more trade in which they get a point guard. After that the lineup PG-Iverson-Iguodala-Brand(next season)-Dalembert looks nicely. Maybe Answer would finally get a chance for something more than 1st round.
Secondly, I don't know why the Pistons should make that trade. I'm not so sure if Miller is what they really need to start winning again. And if they want a rebuild, keeping AI is better for them since after the season he clears way more cap space.

Unfortunately you wrote it yourself .. try doing some dynasties and stuff instead, but next time ask some help from your grammar teacher, you'll surely need some.

Grammar and punctuation in that article is terrible; fake :]

Ha I almost fell for this but even if this was to happen the 76ers wouldn't be in a ix for a championship. I really think he is gonna end his career without a ring .
