The Spurs reportedly have interest in Kings guard John Salmons and center Brad Miller, and they are exploring ways to acquire them in a trade.
San Antonio is even looking to see if Sacramento is interested in Robert Horry, according to a source, who the Spurs could sign and deal.
Horry would then be waived by the Kings, taking home money for nothing, but allowing Sacramento to get out from underneath the contract of either Salmons or Miller.
It's possible that Michael Finley could be involved in a deal between the two teams as well.

And Bird stole the ball...
This is a STEAL for the Spurs...

This would make the Spurs a serious title contender

Not bad, particularly if they can "Keith Van Horn" the Kings with Robert Horry.

Salmons & Miller? Whoa. If they don't have to deal away key players such as trio and Bowen, it's only a win-win for the Spurs. It would be really an awesome help by the Kings, just like what MEM did for LAL.

Finley's a core player. If they can pull a Keith Van Horn with Horry though, it's a steal.

Spurs already are a "serious" title contender without Salmons and Miller.

Finley is a core player no doubt although I think he's easily replaceable. IMO, Same goes for Bowen as he's really getting old.

Vince Carter maybe going to San Antonio now...
Looking to capitalize on the absence of Andrew Bynum in Los Angeles, the Spurs have inquired about New Jersey's Vince Carter.
However, any deal between the Spurs and Nets would be difficult to swing because New Jersey isn't interested many of San Antonio's players.
Only Roger Mason Jr. seems to intrigue the Nets.
Wow... New Jersey only wants Roger Mason Jr.????

I really hope Carter for Mason and filler happens. I hate the Spurs.

You really need to read the things you quote.

This does not mean New Jersey would trade Carter for Mason, only that the only player they even like on that the Spurs are offering is Roger Mason. A trade that obviously is impossible.
As always, screw Real GM and their borderline plagarism and go to
the actual source:
A deal would be extremely difficult to make, however, because among those players San Antonio is making available, the Nets have interest in only Roger Mason -- now arguably the game's top 3-point shooter, and one of its best closers -- and backup point guard George Hill.
Edit: for the new crap quote formatting.

I wouldn't condemn a Carter to San Antonio trade entirely before it happens (then again I thought Kidd to Dallas could work out and look how that turned out) but I don't think it's a deal they need to make. I think the current roster suits their philosophy just fine, though if they are going to tune-up the roster before the deadline a lower profile deal involving players like Salmons and Miller seems like a better fit.

Carter seems like an intriguing addition but I don't wanna give up RMJ for him.

Jason Kidd to Dallas is a whole other ballgame. Carter to the Spurs is akin to the Lakers getting Gasol ... but in this case I'd say the Spurs would be top favorites to win the title, IF they don't have to give up too much. But Popovich would make the most out of it ... whereas Kidd in Dallas had to deal with the coach who wouldn't give him the reins and now a new coach and his age and his declining skills. Carter is younger and I'd trust Popovich way more to get something out of him. Sheesh that'd be scary ...

I never was big on Kidd so it difinitely looked like quite a risky gamble for the Mavericks. This one should be little different, I assume, since SAS has a better chemistry and rather more solid players than ever Dallas had.
Very interesting idea however.
Carter should be an upgrade over whatever SF/SG they have at the moment in exception of Manu, but I don't think both Carter and Manu will play well together on the court as both share similar styles of playing. This is a definite taker for the SAS if the Nets allows it.

Acquiring Gasol filled a need for the Lakers in the wake of Bynum's injury though. The Spurs don't really need Carter, they've got an effective and versatile trio on offense in Duncan, Ginobili and Parker. Perhaps Popovich can utilise Carter effectively and get something out of him that previous coaches couldn't but I'm not so sure about that. He's brushed aside pretty much every criticism that's been lobbed at him no matter where it's come from and he hasn't silenced his critics on the court either. If he hasn't "got it" by now then I'm not sure he ever will.
