Re: :: Intensity, Energy & Passion :: New Jersey Nets 2K9

Dude this is looking massive, I love the work you've put into the daily dimes. For your TV thing that flicks through the different screen shots, I would try to find a better program that will keep the quality of the images better when saving as a .gif (Im not sure which is best though, I tried to figure this out with my Pistons dynasty a few years back but to no avail).

This is gonna take some large amount of dedication to finish a whole season, but it is deffinately going to be entertaining to follow (Y)

I agree with Mark, it's going to be really hard to finish the season, but if that's how you like it, you know everyone else loves it.

(Accidentally simmed this game and the autosave option was on, so... I took
pics of the boxscores and went to exhibition mode to get the pics for the TV,
which by the way looks worst than the last time, I think is something with the
file extension.)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- In a very low-scoring game, Vince Carter scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half, Bobby Simmons added 12 points and New Jersey found a way to hold on to the lead late in a 71-62 victory over Golden State on Saturday night.

"My body and my hands were cold in the first half,'' said Carter, who took only two of his 14 shots. "I couldn't get into a groove so I did what I normally do and went out early and tried to get into a groove.''

The Warriors would not have been able to do it without Simmons, who posted his 12 points in the first half. He dominated in the first quarter and in the opening half of the second. Center Brook Lopez added another 12 points and 4 rebounds, while Devin Harris had 8 points after scoring 7 against Washington.

"We started with the wrong foot again, just like against the Wizards,'' coach Lawrence Frank said. "But, again, just like against the Wizards, we were able to recover and win the game.'' For the Warriors, Stephen Jackson led the way with 17 points, 5 of 9 from the field, 3 of 4 treys, helped by Monta Ellis, who had 14 points and 6 assists.

Notes
  • The Warriors outscored New Jersey 33-12 in the first quarter;
  • Nets recovered already in the second quarter, limiting the Warriors to only 4 points in the quarter, a franchise-low;
  • The Nets won the game thanks to a 44-25 second half.

This season WILL finish. :mrgreen: By the way, PLEASE someone tell me what does he think about the possible trade... Swift + Yi for Maggette. If Harris continues with this form, I might use him as trade bait to get Boozer :cheeky:

I'm not really a big fan of that trade. I don't think you should do it because Maggette is trash on the game, all he does is dunk but anyways maybe trade Yi+Harris to the Grizz for Mayo+Arthur+Gasol. This can give you Lopez + Gasol + Arthur nice big men for the future. I'm not sure how its gonna work out but maybe trade Carter to a contending team and get something nice in return. Something really nice.

Believe me or not, I don't like this Grizz roster very much, and Carter is not moving, so Yi + Harris may go, maybe for Boozer... and move Ager to starting PG and keep Dooling as the backup because he's playing really well coming from the bench. :)

Oh and congrats on the milestone.

no to the trade, you already have a high flying shooter in Vinsanity, but I like the idea of Harris heading out.

I think you should keep Carter and Harris and just try to get a better bench player or a better SF. Unless during the off-season you can get another good PG, you shouldnt trade Harris.

Josh Boone out for 1-2 weeks

Image

New Jersey Nets center Josh Boone has been diagnosed with a dislocated finger today. The damage occurred when Boone had a collision with Golden State Warriors' forward Andris Biedrins in the Nets’ 71-62 win over the Warriors.

Boone was examined today by Nets medical staff and said that surgery will not be needed, which would cause Boone to miss two weeks, in the worst of the cases.

“My current thinking is to give my finger some treatment and rest for a few days, and hope I can still continue to compete at a high level after that rest,” said the center today. "This is an injury that myself and the Nets’ medical staff will just have to continue to monitor on a day-to-day basis.”

IU just think you should try to move Yi, keep Harris unless you have some kind of massive beef with him, hes a pretty decent PG with great upside. I suppose the Maggette trade aint bad if you were going to be using him as a 6th man. But I would be trying to trade for another 4 or 5. Although you could bring in Maggette and play small ball which could always be fun.

Anyway nice win over GS (Y) Perhaps you should change your sliders a bit as your scores are pretty damn low.

Re: :: Intensity, Energy & Passion :: New Jersey Nets 2K9 [2-0]

Sat Jan 31, 2009 2:37 pm

Yes Mark, I was thinking in adjusting the sliders a little, thanks :) Now, I made two trades that will change the team a little, didn't save the association so I can make them later:

New Jersey trades: Jarvis Hayes, Yi Jianlian, Devin Harris, '09 1st round
Utah trades: Carlos Boozer, Kosta Koufos, Kyrylo Fesenko

New Jersey trades: Trenton Hassell, Eduardo Najera, Sean Williams
Golden State trades: Corey Maggette.

New Jersey signs: Damon Stoudamire (as backup for Dooling).

That would leave me with Dooling, Carter, Maggette, Boozer, Lopez; Simmons as 6th man, Stoudamire, Ager, Boone (the players that will have a role). I traded players that mostly I don't like and wouldn't play much (Najera, Williams, Hassell, Yi) or others that were playing just bad (Harris and Hayes). Please opinions!

Well you turn around your whole roster which I dont like usually. I would keep Harris. You only need to develope his J and he will be an All-Star for a long time. Getting Boozer will definitely bring you success, but I dont think he would leave to NJ in RL. I dont like Maggette so I would not trade for him.

So it seems like I dont like all those trades ;) Lil Summary:

- Boozer will bring success - but would he really want to leave to NJ ?
- Devin Harris will be a future All-Star
- Maggette is an egomanic douchebag
- Koufos and Fesenko arent good
- Sean Williams has potential

Keep it up. Awesome work :)

I'm not a very big fan of that trade because Booz will be a FA at the end of the year, I think?
But I think it will work out for you because now you have a low post threat that can score at will, Good Luck with your next game.

Well, I checked and Boozer is a unrestricted free agent but has a player option to stay in Utah, so I don't think he will listen to me :( I'm trying to get J-Rich from Phoenix.

Yeah bro, the trades are ok... but I dont think they are improving you that much. You really shouldnt give up Harris, he is your future. I would be looking to trade Yi along with someone else for a slight upgrade at the PF position.

Yep, I decided that Harris will stay, I might do something to get Boozer but later, not right now, maybe in '09

New Jersey Nets Chris Douglas-Roberts suffered a medial collateral ligament strain at Nets training facilities today.

A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exam taken by the Nets medical staff confirmed the injury. The guard is expected to be sidelined for at least 2 weeks and is expected to be ready by the final days of November.

NEW JERSEY (AP) -- Steve Nash scored his career-high 42 points for the 3rd time, Amare Stoudemire added 18 points and 9 rebounds, as the Suns overcame Devin Harris' huge effort and beat the New Jersey Nets, 108-98 on Tuesday night.

Harris finished with season highs of 21 points and 6 assists, shooting 7-for-13 from the field. "Devin played really good tonight,'' Suns coach Terry Porter said. "He made some tough shots.'' So did his club - plenty of them, especially from long range. Nash went 10-for-18 in the game on three-pointers, including 5 consecutive treys in the third quarter. "I had a good feel for the shots,'' Nash said.

Vince Carter scored New Jersey's last seven points of the third quarter, Suns leading 84-77 entering the final 12 minutes, and he wasn't done. He had a dunk to open the fourth, then another with 8:43 left to give the Nets its first lead in the last quarter, 89-86. "Well, we didn't like the result, but I think people probably got their money's worth on that game going down the stretch,'' Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "That's about as electric as it can get.''

Grant Hill added 18 points and 5 assists. Jarvis Hayes added 13 points in 6-for-8 shooting from the bench for New Jersey. Yi Jianlian scored another 13 points for the Nets. Carter said, "you waste a lot of energy when you come back from 10 or more. You don't really want to do that.'' The Nets had to do it twice.

The Suns ran out to a 31-22 lead after the first quarter, exploiting their size edge. Brook Lopez, Yi and Bobby Simmons all had two fouls by the end of it. Lopez's third came in the beginning of the second part, when he tried to split two defenders as the shot clock ran down and got called for charging. "We knew they were going to make a run. Of what magnitude, we didn't know,'' Jason Richardson said. "But we knew that if we stuck to our game plan, we would be OK.''

Notes
  • Nash also had his career-high 42 points in Phoenix's thrilling 161-157 double-overtime win in New Jersey on Dec. 7, 2006.
  • Neither team could shot 50% from the field, Nets shooting 49% and Suns, 48%;
  • Both teams had 10 fouls;
  • Suns shot 31 3-pointers, making 14 for a .450 from beyond the arc;
  • Nets made 15 of 16 free throws;
  • New Jersey outscored Phoenix on the paint, 66-34, and in bench points, 30-12.

Tough loss bro, although the Suns are a difficult team to play in the game (they should be in real life too) Im really loving the highlight films your putting together, those clips of the mascot prowling are a nice little addition (Y)

Why not try VC+someone(Yi for example) for Melo (and maybe you can even add Balkman, he plays good D). If you want Boozer try to clear some cap and get him as FA. or u can try to get Maxiell(if you dont like Sean Williams).
