It should work, because it supports shader model 3.0, but you won't be able to run it on high. Should get a good fps on low, and a mid to low fps on medium. How much are you looking to spend? There are some good cards available for around 50 to 80 dollars. I would help you futher, but first I need to know how much you are looking to spend.

It won't cut it running 2k9 on high. Because it only has 256mb of memory.

Oh please, please help me! I can spend under $100. I need a PCI 16x card. Just give me a list of some good cards that i can run 2k on hi. I would appreciate it so much. Thanks!

P.S. How would I add the hyper memory to that card?

That is a good card, and should be able to run solidly on high depending on your processor. You won't get higher than 35 frames, but here is one I would recommend:

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.

Here is what I found. Have a look around on ebay, and if you can find a better price, the better

http://cgi.ebay.com/NVIDIA-GeForce-8800 ... 7C294%3A50

Bids are at $80, but it is 10 dollars over your limit to buy it now for $110. I have heard from the other threads that along with a good processor, Dual core or better, it will run very well.

What is your processor????

^ To be honest, I dont even know my processor. Seriously! I also looked at this card:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 2650704648

It fits me the best i think. It has 1 GB memory, and under 305V power unit which I cannot go over. and pixel shader 4.1 which is advanced. What do you think?

To check your processor, do the following:

In the run command, type in dxdiag.
Under the system tab, look for the processor under system information.

That card that you mentioned is good. Good find. :D :D

I know someone who has that card, and it runs at 40fps with a dual core processor. maxed out with the crowd at medium.

That card is right for you, and it is good that it is under the power unit. :D :D

Oh ok I will. Quick Question, I took a look at the picture of the 3650, and I didn't see an available plug for my monitor. I have the blue one, this only has 2 white one's. Will my monitor not work? Take a look.

3650:

3450:

You see, the 3450 has a blue plug. Let me know if my monitor will hook up or not. Thanks!

What type of monitor plug is that other white one? I'm not familiar with it.

OK, I think I will have to settle for this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-Radeon-HD-3450- ... dZViewItem

It's only because I have the blue type of monitor and not an HD, and the 3650 I showed you cannot do a standard monitor.

The white monitor plug is a DVI connector, and produces a digital signal. Check if your monitor's plugs have 18 pins, and if it does it will fit. If it has 15 pins, it is the blue monitor plug. (VGA)

If I haven't explained it clearly, here is a site that should:

Hope that answers your question. :D :D

If you can use the 3650, I found out that it will run Crysis at 60fps on medium, and that is a very graphically demanding game, so it will run well. But the 3450 should only drop a frame or 2 in speed.

Oh ok. Well I think I will do this. i will buy a .99 cent dvi to vga converter so that I can get the 3650 and plug it in that way, or will that not work? Will it notice that my monitor is not HD?

Will the quality of the picture be absolutely terrible if I use the converter? Or will it just look normal?

It shouldn't be a problem. :D

There might be a very slight change, but it shouldn't be noticeable if you have your resolution below 1600 x 1200. :D

Also, it won't notice the difference, it should give a picture similar to a hd set top box when used with a older non lcd/plasma tv.

Or I can buy this Diamond 3650 card with he VGI built in. What do you suggest? But the one with the VGI in it, or buy the .99 cent converter and get the other 3650 with DVI only?

Don't get the Diamond 3650. The performance is nothing compared to the card that uses the converter. Even the Radeon 3650 with only 512mb of memory owns the Diamond 3650, and if you are getting the 1gb version, which I saw from your link, it should perform a lot better than the Diamond 3650. For the sake of performance, get the original.

Proof:

That's my advice, and thanks for letting me help you :D :D :D

The card that comes with that laptop won't run 2K9. Are you able to swap the graphics card???
