am I the only one who is annoyed by that?
Annoyed by that as well when commentators do it. Not just the NBA but the local league here as well.

it's the presumptiousness about it which gets to me. like they are able
to tell what someone else is thinking. no one can read minds as far as I know.

I only want to hear lip reading or mind reading if it's something interesting. Funny thing, I don't remember Stu Lantz doing that much a few years ago, but now he does it all the time.

Well, that is not an absolute truth, as far as quantum physics is concerned.

Celtics, Thuggets and Rockets have some of the worst homer announcers ever. I can't watch those games.

Actually, it has. Anyway, eventually, you will ask yourself the same question. About your topic, I don’t like media exaggeration of some players.

Ì will ask myself if you being a physicist makes my life better?
what players are you talking about?

another thing that pisses me off, is when they show scores
of other games on a ticker on the screen somewhere.
movement draws the eye, so I'll screw myself out of
being able to watch a game later without knowing the
final score already.

That reminds me of a game last year which I had to tape as I was working the Saturday morning. I got home in time for the fourth quarter but I decided to wait until it was over and watch it from the beginning. Unfortunately when I turned on the TV after I was sure it was over, I caught ESPNews Post Game which was prominently displaying all the day's scores, including the game that had just finished and I was about to watch.
