Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

I actually stumbled upon this site a few days ago and have been impressed with the work of so many of you. IMO some of you should be emailing these patch links to 2K sports and demand to be hired so they can get it right the 1st time, but thats not what i wanna talk about.
I've downloaded about 5-6 uniform patches, plus a few face patches and i've noticed that the file sizes are at least double the size as the ones we are replacing, if i was to continue to updating as these faces, shoes, courts, jersey patches come out, won't the larger file sizes cause my computer to lag during game play, i have a 4 gig of ram but i was just curious before i got all out updating too much.

you should be fine
the file sizes are larger because they are uncompressed. Hopefully soon we will be able to compress the files back down.
While you are right in worrying about it, using an uncompressed stadium + 2 uncompressed uniform files on my 3 gig RAM machine doesn't cause any excess lag.

Cheers, thanks for such a quick reply.
I'm just amazed at the detail in which some of these patches are. You guys are doing a great job, what type of program do they use to do this?

for texture editing people are using photoshop, a free alternative I've been peddling is Gimp
for importing into the iff files they are using iffset
and for other patches they are using texmod
