Seems like Miles played today for 14 productive minutes in losing efforts. 10 points and 7 rebounds. +/- is at -3 but glad to see him playing well.
I guess Portland can talk to their lawyer now. This will be a good lesson to the league.

Portland can talk to their legal team all they want but it's not going to do any good. I'm not sure what you mean by it being a good lesson to the league though, it's barely a lesson for the Blazers. They just had a situation blow up in their face, what seemed like a shrewed move ultimately didn't work out, then they got caught out trying to play a little dirty. They're just lucky the league didn't fine them or strip them of any picks. Frankly, they're getting off easy only having to do what everyone else does when they cut someone who still has guaranteed money left on their deal.

Yeah, it's officially on the books. Besides, Miles has been really good in last two games, the dude still has some skill.

I watched the Utah-Memphis game on TV and I was glad to see that Miles played some good minutes... All I know is that he can still play in the league...

Here's an
excellent piece by Adrian Wojnarowski summing up the situation. After another writer defended the Blazers and tried to point out Miles' troubled past, I'm glad Wojnarowski wrote that column reiterating why Portland's management has come under fire and that no one is disputing Miles' past issues but this time, he's doing and saying all the right things as he tries to take the high road.

i'm also surprised that he can play at that level after what blazers doc called career ending injury. i really can't wait to see what kind of contract he'll sign in a near future. best of luck to miles who's shown great perseverance to come back from the injury.

It makes you wonder about that diagnosis. It's not like the Blazers found a doctor willing to lie for them or anything as all parties had to agree to the doctor that performed the examination and offered that opinion. Perhaps it did look bleak at the time but further examinations yielded a more positive result.

Memphis Signs Miles to 2nd 10-Day DealIf he can continue being modestly productive in limited minutes then perhaps he'll catch on for the rest of the season.

Memphis signs Darius Miles for rest of seasonGood for him, hopefully for his sake he makes the most of his second chance at a career in the NBA and avoid some of the mistakes he made in the past.
