Effects of "Special" EXE

OK i have the "Special" .exe on my 2k9. Are there crashes unexpectedly like NBA Live 07-08? Or does it run the same? I am only asking this because i want to patch my 2k9 without knowing there could be a side effect. Do you get what I'm saying?

since IFF is now "editable" by only those "you know whos"...there's no sense in using the special exe that you're saying and use texmod...
