That Mirelurk thing is just hard as hell. But when you get a combat shotgun things will get easier.
I recommend you use a Stealth Boy

As it happens, I just came across one thanks to a run-in with some unfriendly wastelanders. I'll just need to stock up on some ammo and aid.

I have plans of getting Assassin's Creed, but after reading your thoughts about it, maybe not. Mass Effect is top on the list of the wants right now.
Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:24 am
I'm still keen to pick that up actually but I'm trying to cut down on my spending right now and I've only just recently picked up Fallout 3 so I'll wait until I see it on special or second hand somewhere.

So have you decided to blow up Megaton, 'drew?
Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:31 am
Assassin's Creed was alright, great animations and vivid world, but very repetitive after a while, and disappointing ending.
I'm still trying to resist the urge of finally starting to play GTA IV, still waiting for a 2nd patch, even though with some tweaks it's more than playable now...But I'm trying to finish Far Cry 2 first, and possibly one or two episodes that I have still left from Sam & Max Season 2.

No Fable II for the PC I believe.

No detonator, I squealed to Lucas Simms and handed it over.

Be a prick to everyone Lean, slaughter everyone and add some points to your "intimidate" skill, that'll open new dialog options.

Haven't started quite yet, just did a "test run."
My brother ran onto some bugs at the early missions, right after the Eden Prime one. In-game stuff doesn't show up. When he played again yesterday, though, got past it. But he got stuck again, unable to save his game.

Currently stuck in Mass Effect. Can't save the damn game, except for the AutoSave function. I'm looking for ways to solve it. Shucks.
Mon Jan 19, 2009 2:20 am
I think there is a patch out that may fix that. Or a "patch" that you are using is why you can't save.
Mon Jan 19, 2009 8:54 am
I'm just about up to where I am in my first play through, in terms of levelling up and quests completed. I've certainly gotten through it a bit quicker second time around and tend to have a better idea of what I'm doing. I'm taking advantage of the hotkeys more often as well, such a fundamental element of the game's controls I wasn't bothering with.

Weird stuff. I remember mine crashing every once in a while, but no issue with saving. I know that simply launching the shortcut with the "run as administrator" option checked did solve some problems for many people.
I finished Far Cry 2 yesterday, so I can finally focus all my attention to GTA IV now. Still in dire need of a 2nd patch, but it's definitely lots of fun as it is.

How is Far Cry 2? Worth a play through?
Tue Jan 20, 2009 3:25 am
It's weird, it could have been absolutely phenomenal, but in the end it's like it "restrains" itself to be only a good FPS.
The shooter's mechanisms are some of the best I've seen, the visuals are gorgeous (the best I've seen after Crysis and STALKER: CS, but with much better performance), it keeps you in the 1st person perspective at all times (seeing your hands heal yourself, fix a broken engine, hold your map, unjam your weapons...), which really adds to the immersion. And of course you got this huge environment that you can visit on foot or by vehicle.
On the other hand, there's no "fast travel" possibility (there are buses but they're not that helpful), so it gets tiring very fast when you need to go the other corner of the map each time you pick up a new mission. Well, it wouldn't be that bad, except that enemy checkpoints scattered all across the roads keep spawning back, so even if you've just killed them 2 minutes ago, and if you went to do something else after that and you come back, there will be new enemies chasing and shooting at you. It gets annoying very rapidly to travel long distances then...
Also, because of the free-form type of gameplay, it can be pretty hard to actually keep up with the story. Because there's no interaction going on (besides in a few spots), and everyone you see pretty much wants you dead right away (there's barely any NPC), it really doesn't help the storytelling at all and in the end you don't even know why you're doing what you're doing.
Still, if you have 20-25 hours to kill, it's definitely worth it.

been spending a lot of time with the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix download from the PS Network. it's actually gotten me back into Street Fighter (I used to be a huge fan when i was younger) and I might pick up and play some of my older PS2 and PS1 SF games I got. Man I can't wait for Street Fighter IV next month.

Got the game fixed up with the 1.01 patch for Mass Effect. And liking the game thus far.
