First
Shaun Livingston:
The Miami Heat traded guard Shaun Livingston and cash to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, in exchange for a conditional second-round pick in the 2012 draft.
Livingston, a once-dynamic point guard who signed with the Heat in October with hopes of resurrecting his career after a catastrophic knee injury, only played in four games with Miami. He averaged 2.3 points in 10.3 minutes and didn’t appear in any of Miami’s last 13 games.
Surprising as it was being reported that the Heat had cut him yesterday. In any case, the
Grizzlies did. I wouldn't count myself as a fan of his but I hope he can make it somewhere else and have a decent shot at resurrecting his career after that gruesome injury.
The Nuggets finally
dealt Chucky Atkins:
The resurgent Nuggets, who have been building momentum ever since sending Allen Iverson and his big contract to Detroit for Chauncey Billups two months ago, sent point guard Chucky Atkins and a protected first-round pick in this summer to Oklahoma City for center Johan Petro and the Thunder’s second-round pick this year.
Not a bad deal on both sides as Atkins has been playing behind Billups and Carter and the Nuggets could certainly use another big man. The Thunder on the other had a ridiculous glut of big men which wasn't helped when they signed Krstic so picking up another guard seems like a good idea to me.
Here's a good one:
Clippers acquire, waive Hassan Adams:
Two hours after announcing they had acquired Hassan Adams from the Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Clippers waived the 6-foot-4 swing man Wednesday.
The injury-riddled Clippers acquired the 24-year-old Adams along with cash considerations for a future conditional second-round draft choice.
Almost seems like a trade just for the sake of making a trade.

Phoenix Suns dumped Dee Brown, and now they're finally eying Shaun Livingston.
The Suns released guard Dee Brown today, opening a roster spot that will have to be filled to be at the NBA minimum.
This move coincided with Miami's release of point guard Shaun Livingston, a player the Suns have been interested in acquiring based on his potential.
Brown had been signed to a non-guaranteed contract to leave the Suns the flexibility to pick up a player who was bought out or unexpectedly released. Brown's contract would have been guaranteed for the season on Jan. 10. Teams could begin signing players to 10-day contracts on Monday.
The Suns now have the option to wait until Jan. 19 to sign another player.
Livingston, the 2004 draft's No. 4 pick, is coming off a devastating February 2007 injury in which he dislocated his left knee and tore three ligaments in it. He had played four games this season for Miami, which cut him before his minimum contract was going to become guaranteed at the end of the week.

That might be a good scenario for him, there's no way he's competing with Nash for the starting job but he can battle it out with Dragic for backup minutes at the point.

I'm a fan of Shaun Livingston but I hate the Suns. Oh well, I just hope he gets substantial minutes wherever he goes

Dragic is basically a shooting guard who was fitting a empty spot on being a point guard. He's a remarkable shooter, but they can bring Lopez, Livingston, Dragic, Barnes, & Amundson or Dudley. Although, they will lack in size in the 4, but a pretty much with the line-up like that they can run that or shop for a power forward named Richard Hendrix.

Correction... If there was a possible lineup that the Suns were trying to do if Livingston joins. It'll be him running point guard while they have Barbosa at the 2, Barnes/Dragic at the 3 (in need of spread ball shooting), Dudley/Amundson at the 4, and Lopez at the 5.

I think Livingston should have been on the Suns years ago, as I believe his style of play fits their offense. I'm not sure how different thier offense is now without D'Antoni, but he would be a nice backup for Steve Nash either way.
Don't know what was going on with that Clippers trade and waive. Maybe Toronto owed them some money?

The first thought is that it's a cost cutting measure by the Raptors because they've got a considerable payroll but Adams didn't have a big contract and it would've expired this coming offseason anyway. I guess it frees up a roster spot which could point to them making a bigger deal in the near future. For their part, the Clippers got a conditional second round pick and cash, though you have to wonder why the Raptors didn't just cut Adams themselves.
