you need an all star player. Try to get Vince Carter or T-mac or D Wade or Rudy Gay

. And always keep building your all star team, I play with Miami Heat and it's my 6th season now, and my players are:
C: N. Winter 84 (generated rookie, it's his 3rd year right now, he won the "most improved player" award last season)
PF: M. Beasley 99 (I always work with him in practice and development mode)
SF: V. Carter 88 ( He's kinda old now, so his ratings are lower. He's been on fire shooting threes last season, finished 3rd in 3pt percent and 9th in 3pts attempted)
SG: D. Wade 99 (We just keep working and working on his skills, he developed into a great 3 point shooter, he also won 2 MVPs, 3 times leading scorer in the league and 4 times got the most votes for the all star break)
PG: J. Kidd 90 (I acquired him last season, right before the trade deadline, and he's been a terrific addition to my team)
6: R. Allen 86
7: P. Pierce 85 (Utah Jazz offered him for Ben Gordon at the beginning of this season, so I accepted the trade)
8: L. Kleiza 76
9: R. Jefferson 81
10: J. Swanson 82 (generated rookie)
11: M. Blount 75
12. J Kapono 77
here's how the team did the past years:
2009- eliminated 1st round by Boston Celtics
2010- NBA Champions (MVP D Wade)
2011- NBA Champions (MVP D Wade)
2012- Eliminated 2nd round by New York Knicks
2013- Eliminated NBA Finals by San Antonio Spurs
just expand your team to the limit
