this is off topic but is it just me or did steam take down the full version of 2k9? or was the full version available to download off it?

You can only download the demo from steam now

uy taga dabaw sab hehe

an x1650pro would be ok bro but i doubt it can do high details :( ..upgrading to a dual core would help though as I noticed that it does make use of the 2 cores (looking at task manager) with both cores hitting aroung 70-80% usage

anyway, even if you cant max out the details, the gameplay is sooo fun anyway (compared to NBA Live) so to hell with the ultra high details and just enjoy the game for its gameplay :)

After some previous experimenting, even at the lowest resolution the game still looks nice with Player Detail at High and Textures at Medium and some are set to Low or Off. Even if the Player Detail is at Medium the game still looks good.

+1 for it being more about game play than looks. I just wish they had made the pc version available top play online even if only by direct ip then I could get my Aussie league going again.

correct!
whenever I play, and the game is an exciting one, i hardly notice the nice textures and concentrate instead on winning :)

put simply, dont worry if you cant play it on ultra high, the gameplay is good, the animations (movements) look fluid and this is what many have been asking for during the dark day (NBA live era)

want high details? go spend some bucks on a nice videocard? cannot or wont spend? then no problem, the game is still very beautiful even with low-medium graphics

yep Davaoeno here :)

I would suggest a card that exceeds the recommended requirements (7900GT) so that means (for recent cards) a card higher than the 8600GT/9500GT. I would suggest at least a 9600GT though, oh and for these cards (9600GT~9800GT performance level) to choose the 512mb over the 1gb version if the price difference is big since these benefits between the 512 and 1gb versions wouldnt be as "felt" as on stronger cards (long explanation)

so yeah id suggest you get a 9600GT (at least) or a 9800GT
try to contact this guy, Matthew aka Zalman_dealer (from Davaosale and DCwarez) YM nya is gwapo_si_matthew@yahoo.com he can hook you up with a low priced good card ;)
