LL Injury Generator 09 for 2k9 (and other games)

Wed Mar 04, 2009 12:33 am

INFORMATION

I am currently working on my project LL Injury Generator 09. Injuries in 2k9 can either be switched on or off but there's nothing in between. With my program you can generate your own custom injuries using different settings. Run my program before each game of your association and it will tell you if a player is fine or injured. The main goal of my Injury Generator is to give you full control of injuries. There won't be too few or too many injuries as you can use your own settings.

FEATURES

+ customizable season length
+ customizable number of players on roster
+ customizable injury value with presets (chance of an injury)
+ save and test functions
+ can be used for different games such as NBA 2k / Live, NHL 2k / Live, Pro Evolution Soccer...

Please note that 2k9's engine can NOT be manipulated! My program only simulates injuries for user-controlled teams when injuries are turned OFF in 2k9. Of course cpu teams won't have injuries then...only user-controlled teams!

NastyNacho I don't really know what you are talking about but my program is an exterior tool that can NOT manipulate 2k9 and its files or settings. Don't just look at the screenshot but read the description. ;)

The only thing my program does is to generate random injuries for your user-controlled team (and not for cpu teams). You can use it if the engine of 2k9, NBA Live or whatever yields too few or too many injuries for your user-controlled team. In this case you switch injuries off, won't get injuries for cpu teams but can adjust the chance of injuries for user-controller teams. It is like a die you roll before a game...if you roll a 1 for a player he is injured, if you roll numbers between 2 and ... he is fine. My tool only simulates dice.

Many sports games have an injury option but it yields too few or too many injuries, e.g. Live 2003 had way too few. Therefore, I use my program to just get the amount of injuries I want for my team!

If you can find out how to lessen computer injuries this would be the best. I swear every time I enter the injury report it's like half of the league is injured.

Hell no. LOL

My program does not have to do anything with 2k9! The players in the game are NOT injured as injuries are switched off. They are ALWAYS playable! I have to move them to the IR manually. It is like "I don`t want to play Harrington, I put him on the IR". No single player is injured! As I said it SIMULATES injuries. It is just fantasy, fiction, not real. Take a die with 100 sides and roll it. If you roll a 1 you do not play a player. If you roll a number between 2 and 99 you play him.

You could also take the dice of a board game and roll them...and say "if I roll a 1 I move the player to the IR".
My program is just a customizable set of dice! I am making it as it is more handy than to roll dice over and over again.

Got it?

My program can be used for anything. You could also use it to see if you should eat a hot dog or not.

eh just play with the durability boost for the user/cpu teams, by default there is way too many major injuries period, especially with how players tend to get hammered playoff foul style going to the hoop.

season play had michael jordan get injured first game of the season out for 2 weeks with his latent durability of 99 and the default boost settings. sure if you play with the setting you can find something accurate.

think there is 2 settings one for frequency and the booster setting for your teams abilities. other than a editor that can "heal" injured players in season mode, dont see the point of siming injuries on your team if you got injuries turned off.

Yes, you could tweak the duration sliders as well but I don't know the actual chance of an injury of different duration values. Moreover, I coded my program years ago before sliders were implemented in basketball games. I know that my program is not that important but I am making it for me anyway, and perhaps others want to use it, too...e.g. for other sports games. :)

With my program I know all values and chances. The settings recommended value + 29 games per season will give you the following results:

74% of your players will be healthy throughout the season whereas 3-4 will miss games. Injuries are different from 2k or Live. Players are not on the IR for days but they miss games, e.g. "[player] out for 1-12 games.
Of course long injuries are very rare...if you play with 29 games a 12-game injury is really hard.

thanks cool i am sure people will find it handy thanks. i tend just to fiddle with sliders and have injuries on usually with the durability sliders set pretty high for my team and the cpu teams, hate that your scorers can get tackled going to the hoop with no flagrant fouls and dramatically raises the risk of injury as evidenced by my opening game with jordan geting hurt.
