Ouch, long night for the Jazz!

Another dominant stretch with some fine individual performances. Love that screenshot of Melo. (Y)

Yeah, stuff like that it almost as bad as the fadeaway threes. Basically it comes down to players doing things they shouldn't instead of resetting the offense with plenty of time left on the shot clock. As always, fingers crossed for NBA Elite 11.

It would be nice to have the AI understand the roles of different players better. They promised with this game that every team plays differently, but I think they failed to deliver on that promise.

For the most part though, I love the game. One thing they really got right was the atmosphere. Every game feels big in NBA Live 10 :)

I'm just hoping they surprised us by releasing it in PC :) or else I would have to buy Xbox.

This has been all discussion so far need some updates :P

If they released it on PC, I'd definitely buy it. Apparently my housemate is thinking of getting NBA 2k11 though... so my next story could be in the other section. But yeah, who knows.

I'll try and get more updates through the week ;)

Everybody is really clicking and hopefully I can keep it up. My goal is 72-10... but at the rate I'm going, it'll be tough.

I had to give them a long night after what happened in this year's playoffs (real life) ;)

I'm quite proud of that screenshot. It's hard to get a picture of a player getting posterised in this game, but I think I got it pretty well in that one :)

Out of the box, I'd say they delivered. But when they tried to correct the problem with the offense stalling and the point guard dribbling out the shot clock, they made the AI improvise way too early in the shot clock.

You're probably right. I actually didn't realise I downloaded the patch until the computer started to take fadeaway threes from halfcourt. A bunch of other little things were a bit off as well.

5 Game Summary

Here's another 5 game summary in quick succession. Once again Denver went 4-1 over this round, this time losing to the hot Portland Trail Blazers. With the win against Denver, Portland would be on a 10 game winning streak. Apart from that abberation... dominance once again. The highest winning margin was against long-time rivals the Los Angeles Lakers, which is always satisfying. The feature game though is in the Californian Capital, as the Nuggets take on Dwyane Wade and the Kings. Here it is:

Denver hold on

Image

Despite a spirited 4th quarter comeback from the Kings, the Denver Nuggets have held on to win 81-76. The Kings were down by as many as 20 in the 3rd quarter, but a rally in the 4th saw them get within a point. The trio of Brook Lopez, Joakim Noah and Dwyane Wade led the charge, all scoring 18 points each. However it'd be the oldest man in the league, Chauncey Billups who would be the high-point scorer of the game with 23. Carmelo Anthony supported Mr Big Shot's scoring effort with a Sprite Performer of the Game stat line of 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Both Billups and Anthony made up for JR Smith's unusually quiet night. Smith scored 11 points, as he was troubled by D-Wade's defense. The other double-digit scorer for the Kings was Andre Iguodala with 15. Both Brook Lopez and Joakim Noah registered their double-doubles with 10 and 11 rebounds respectively.

In this game, Chauncey Billups proved age was no barrier. Billups was matched up against one of this year's top rookie prospects in Caleb Jackman. Jackman would finish the game with a below par 5 points and 4 assists. It just goes to show that you can't count out a champion.

Denver are now 47-8. It's also worth mentioning that the Phoenix Suns were playing without LeBron James.

------------------------------

It's funny when it happens to them...
Image
JR Smith registered 40 points against the LA Lakers. The Nuggets ended up winning that game by 41 points... I'd almost feel sorry for them.

The other shooting guard
Image
T-Mac 2.0 had an impressive effort in Denver's loss to the Blazers. He scored 30 points and grabbed 5 boards off the bench.

Still going strong
Image
The Birdman was impressive against San Antonio. He had 10 points and 17 boards... and a block for a good measure.

Unexpected explosion
Image
Seldom used forward Nicolas Batum had a huge 4th against the Spurs. He scored all 19 of his points in the final period of the game. There's no doubt that the guy can definitely play.

Even though they don't have a retro jersey, the feature game will be against the Bobcats.

Next up will be another 5 game summary. Since I've almost finished RDR, my dynasty should be having regular updates once again.

Colored hair must be very popular in the Lakers, first that Daly guy with the red hair and now the no.26 guy with blond hair :)

Great update as always (Y)

They can wear their NASCAR alternates. ;)

Huge fourth quarter from Batum, always entertaining when an unexpected hero steps up.

The thing I hate about the A.I. is that the harder the team you face, the easier it is to make a comeback and win, but I mean the 76ers got 44 in the 4th quarter. I was like WTF. Damn A.I. -.-

I was watching that game live, it was a great drive. I don't like to get too carried away updating ratings based on a few games but I had to review Dragic's ratings in the rosters after watching him for six games in the WCF and make a few adjustments, since I hadn't made many changes from the time I added him as a rookie.

Always good to see guys step up off the bench on occasion. 55 games through the season and only 8 losses. :shock:

That and porno moustaches are very popular in the league in 2017 ;)

I believe #26 is Luther Rutherford.

The only alternate I found was the green week jersey, so I'm going to be using that for the Bobcats.

I do love when my role players have an out of the ordinary game. Makes things interesting that's for sure.

I just figure that the AI is going to be ruthless on me, so I'm going to do the same. In the earlier games, I used to feel a bit guilty about blowing teams out, so I'd take the foot off the accelerator a bit... not in this game though. I guess it's why all the games I tend to win are pretty emphatic... and the games the computer win are also the same.

axelgomez13 wrote:Your team still looks good, reminds me of my dynasty, nothing but win, win, win. :lol:

I figured after 3 simulated seasons of mediocrity, I had to pick up the level a bit. The first season of this dynasty was actually pretty mediocre, even though I got a lot of players mentioned in the teams at the end of the year.

That was a sweet drive, but unfortunately, I didn't get to see that game live. So I had no idea about Robin Lopez' celebration. It's always awesome when you can capture something in the game that immitates real life... even though he's in a Denver jersey.

Of the times I've seen Dragic play, I've been very impressed. I think there's a lot of teams he could be starting on, but he provides great support on the second unit.

I've been particularly ruthless this season. JR Smith has been helping my cause quite a lot, but the other players like Melo, Birdman and Billups complement him quite well. I also have a deep bench, which helps a lot. So deep that even Stewie can't get any game time :lol:

5 Game Summary

After another 5 games, Denver have once again gone 4-1, this time dropping a game to the Nets. It would seem their chance to break the 72-10 record is getting rather slim, but with this team just about anything is possible. Apart from the one blemish, no team was able to get within 11 points of them, with the biggest win coming over New York (21 points). The feature game is against the Charlotte Bobcats, who are going green in this retro month:

JR's big night tames Bobcats

Image

For the fourth time this season (I think it's 4), JR Smith has scored 50+ points to steer Denver to victory over Charlotte with a final score of 98-87. JR Smith proved to be unstoppable, but it was almost a lone effort as there was only one other player (Anthony 12) for Denver who scored double figures. For the Bobcats, they had 4 players reach double-digits, led by Charlie Villanueva (22 points, 11 rebounds). Point guard Reuben Walker scored 19, while Patrick McNamara (18) and Kevin Love (17) both contributed. The overall team effort kept the Bobcats in the game for the most part, but it was the top candidate for MVP that took over.

------------------------------------

DEN@CHA

DEN: 98 (Smith 50, Anthony 12, Billups 8)
CHA: 87 (Villanueva 22, Walker 19, McNamara 18)

Sprite Performer of the Game: JR Smith 50 points

Rebounds

DEN: Andersen 11
CHA: Frye 12

Assists

DEN: Billups 6
CHA: Love, Walker 5

------------------------------------

Last 5 Games

@SAC: 90-79 W
@CHA: 98-87 W
@NJN: 85-80 L
@NYK: 96-75 W
@DET: 93-79 W

The Nuggets are now 51-9

------------------------------------

Still King of the Palace
Image
Chauncey Billups may have left Detroit almost 10 years ago, but he still knows how to play a big game there. Against Detroit he had 25 points, 10 assists and 4 steals.

Career Night
Image
Borislav Perko had a hell of a night against the New York Knicks. He scored a career high 28 points, while registering 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block. He's beginning to prove that trading LaMarcus Aldridge to give him an opportunity is paying off.

------------------------------------

Next 5 Games

@LAL
@LAC
@PHX
CLE
DET

The feature game will be against Detroit.

------------------------------------

So at 51-9, Denver need to win the next 22 games in order to break the Bulls record of 72-10. This will mean they will have to end the year on a winning streak of 24, which would put them second all-time on the list of winning streaks. It's a hell of a mountain to climb, but these guys are from Denver afterall. The next 5 game summary will be up next.

The Nuggets continue to beat the crap out of the NBA. I hope you go 73-9 for the season, but that would also mean beating the Rockets' 22-game win streak from a few years ago :cry: . Oh well. :D

BTW, how do you get a lot of steals? I've noticed that you get a crap load of steals with Chauncey.

Oh well, you can always beat the streak in your dynasty... I'm not usually one to go for these records but it has made it more interesting and kinda puts more pressure on me now I'm kind of dominating.

As for the steals, I get a lot of them with Chauncey when the guard from the other side is standing still... possibly trying to set a play. Another way (I don't like doing it much) is you can kind of run the opposition player out of the court and he'll try and keep the ball in play... that's an easy way to get a steal but always feel it's a bit underhanded. I only do it when I feel the CPU is getting away with absolute murder. It's kind of a way of creating your own justice in the game :lol:

megarover wrote:Damn J.R do you not know how to miss a shot :lol:. Boris seems to be getting more and more better. How does your big man rotation look like?

JR misses a few, but he just gets a lot of shots in the game. Offensive rebounding helps that out a lot as well I suppose.

My big man rotation is something like this:

Centre: Andersen/Lopez/Pecherov/Conners
Power Forward: Perko/Hill/Gibson

Both Pecherov and Conners are on IR, while Gibson seldom gets game time because I generally try to give more minutes to Perko and Hill. They both have better offensive games than Gibson. If anyone ever got injured in this game, I'd consider having Pecherov on my bench as big man insurance, but yeah, no one ever does unless I'm simulating and even then, the only injury I ever got was JJ Hickson a few seasons ago.

Dee24 wrote:wow! J.R. Smith AKA "The Prodigy" (if I'm not mistaken) erupts with 50pts... a good game also for the rookie Perko.

Thierry. wrote:Great J.R. - Perko duo. (Y) Superb stats!

Smith is just amazing in this game. If he gets an even remotely open shot from beyond the arc, he will hit it 90 percent of the time. He's somewhat unproven in the playoffs, but so far so good. Perko seems to be exactly what I need for the power forward position... generally I don't need a lot of points from my big guys because my back-court does most of the damage, but it's nice to get a game like that from him every now and then.

I've gotten used to the nuances of this game, but I try not to let complacency set in. Whenever I think the game is getting too easy, I can string together a few losses, so each time I go to play, I pretend like every game I play is a must win. It's also gotten a lot easier now the Lakers suck and Steve Nash is retired :lol:

Thanks for that Andrew, the hardwood classics jerseys are awesome. I particularly like the San Fransisco Warriors one... hopefully it'll get seen sometime in the retro month. I wish they did they did the Nuggets jersey of the 90s:

Image

The retro jersey I'm using now has to be one of the ugliest uniforms of all time. Particularly with the rainbow.

Hopefully Smith can get the MVP... otherwise I think I'd have to give up on any hope of ever getting it.
