I like the idea of Ty, maybe use a 2k11 Euroleague patch?

If Taylor MacKenzie is T-Mac, then Ty Maximilian would be the Euroleague's T-Max. And Orlando's MacKenzie MacMahon would be Double-Mac, or even Mac Daddy. :D

And what about Byron Mullens being an All-Star? What's next? Brian Scalabrine coaching?

It would be a nice idea, but I've kind of had it with My Player. It's either too easy or too hard thanks to it's lack of sliders. And it's not like it's hard because I suck, it's because the teammates you get are absolute Kwame Browns.

Martti. wrote:Ty was an interesting piece of your story, but I think you shouldn't go though the trouble. Perko and T-Mac 2 are very fun to follow.

Just say he decided to retire in Europe and focus on something else. :P

I just like the idea because it'd be something different and I'd be able to include players that faded out in this dynasty. This hasn't had anywhere near enough AMMO for my liking

Andrew wrote:Interesting idea but it might be spreading yourself too thin. Lamrock's My Player idea might be something to consider though, kind of an alternate universe thing. ;)

Strong round this time, it's a good day when your sixth man can drop 50 points to lead you to victory in a tight game.

The idea of course would be if time permits. The main priority will be this dynasty. Nothing would get done in the spinoff until I was happy enough to retire this one.

It was definitely cool to add Taylor to the 50 club. He really should have been there a long time ago though I think. Still, better late than never.

It might just turn out to be a lucky colour :)

I'd have to go and look around for a patch or something. Perhaps even get the required permission to add some players in as well. As I've mentioned, I'd like to get players who disappeared from the free agent pool involved in it as well as Ty. But I shouldn't think too far ahead. There's a lot of this still to go :)

5 Game Summary

Even though the Nuggets had a first up loss against the defending Eastern Conference champions, the Toronto Raptors, they were able to add 4 more wins to their season tally in this summary. In fact, no team were able to get within 14 points of Denver in the remaining 4 games. The feature is the second of the double-header against the Minnesota Timberwolves:

Nuggets Team Effort Tames Timberwolves

Image

Six players from the Denver Nuggets hit double digit scoring as they easily accounted for the Minnesota Timberwolves, winning 88-64. Following his 27 point effort in the previous game, J.R. Smith went on to lead the Nuggets scoring once again with 20. Carmelo Anthony (14) and Dwight Howard (14 points, 11 rebounds) also both lended a helping hand to the Nuggets cause. Taylor MacKenzie led the bench scoring with 12 points, while Patrick Mills continued his solid form with 11. But it was a case of dejavu for Denver, as the night belonged to Borislav Perko. His triple-double streak extended to 4 games as he had 11 points, 12 rebounds and a staggering 20 assists. He was setting up everything for his teammates and it's the reason why Denver had such a vast spread of scorers across the sheet.

Juxtaposed to Denver's performance was the meek team effort from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Only two of their players scored in double figures. Derrick Rose once again led the way with 20 points. Axel Walter was the only other one to really trouble Denver with 14. Brent O'Rourke was the next best after, scoring 8 off the bench.

This was the second win Denver had over Minnesota in 3 days, winning the first game 92-78.

The Swiss Army Knife?
Image
With triple-double after triple-double, it seems like there's nothing Borislav Perko can't do. His effort against the Wizards brought up a rarity for him; he actually led the Nuggets in scoring with 25 points. He also added 16 rebounds and 11 assists. Perko certainly isn't plateauing with these stats:

Vs Boston: 10 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists
Vs Minnesota: 11 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists
Vs Minnesota: 11 points, 12 rebounds, 20 assists

The triple-double count is now at 28 from 60 games.

After joining the 50 club two games previous to this one, Taylor MacKenzie had another strong outing against the Celtics, scoring 33 points. When he's hitting that fadeaway, he's impossible to stop.

Earl had two impressive performances against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the first game he scored 27 and in the second he scored 20. Both times he was the top scorer for the Nuggets. Can't ask for much more than that.

Huge triple-doubles for Perko, if only he could just get 13 more triple-doubles to tie Oscar Robertson's record, that would be awesome. Maybe too much to ask for at this point. :)

That's the goal at the moment (to record 1 every 2 games), since that's what Oscar Robertson's record requires. Here's hoping :)

5 Game Summary

The 4 game win streak was extended to 9 as the Nuggets went 5-0 this summary. It was a round that contained a few milestones, including one that had only been reached once before in NBA history. That particular one came in Denver's win against the Rockets. They had no problems taking care of Memphis and New Orleans, while San Antonio and Detroit proved to be tougher opponents. For the sake of the milestone, the feature game is against the Spurs:

Perko Passes Wilt in Win

Image

Borislav Perko registered his 32nd triple-double of the season as the Nuggets won 84-80 against the Spurs. His performance of 11 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists saw him surpass Wilt Chamberlain to have the second most triple-doubles in a regular season. He once again had great help from the likes of Taylor MacKenzie and Dwight Howard, who scored 21 and 20 respectively. Carmelo Anthony managed to chip in with 14 points of his own.

The Spurs looked likely to stop the Nuggets' winning streak at 7, with both Alejandro Carlos and Jamie Mathieu scoring 25 points. Mathieu added to his impressive offensive performance by grabbing 10 rebounds for his double-double. Former Nuggets forward and makeshift Spurs centre Ralph Patel also managed to put up a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) against the team that originally drafted him.

Even though San Antonio put up a hell of a fight, the Nuggets held on to record their 8th win in a row.

Wilt Themed Round
Image
Perko not only surpassed Wilt's season triple-double tally, but he also became the first person since the Stilt to put up a double-triple-double game. Against the Rockets he had 20 points, 22 rebounds and 20 assists. And his triple-double tally for the round? 5 from 5:

Vs Houston: 20 points 22 rebounds 20 assists
Vs Memphis: 12 points 15 rebounds 11 assists
Vs New Orleans: 13 points 12 rebounds 13 assists
Vs San Antonio: 11 points 15 rebounds 10 assists
Vs Detroit: 23 points 10 rebounds 10 assists

He now has 33 triple-doubles from 65 games. He needs 9 from 17 to have the regular season record.

No Love For Memphis
Image
J.R. Smith produced one of those classic games, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored 50 against the team he spent 6 seasons with before his second tenure with the Nuggets.

The Almost Perko
Image
Dwight Howard was 2 assists shy of his own triple-double against the New Orleans Hornets. He had 11 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. It would have been the first time since 2007 where teammates registered triple-doubles, as it was last done by Vince Carter and Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets.

OMG McGee!

Denver once again struggled against the Detroit Pistons, but JaVale McGee ended up being the difference off the bench. He had 26 points and 11 rebounds against the Pistons.

Well, it's hard to get a headline in this team, so it's easy to forget about him. Had to make the most of the opportunity to call him "OMG McGee"

I'm pretty sure Wilt isn't happy, but I think he has enough records as it is... he can let Perko have that one :P

March 2021 Review

March was historic for the Denver Nuggets franchise. During the retro month, the Nuggets lost only two games, but that wasn't the incredible part. Borislav Perko not only joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only player to register a double-triple-double, but he also took over the Stilt's second all-time season triple-double ranking. Currently he's only 4 away from equalling the record of most triple-doubles in a season, currently held by Oscar Robertson. His streak is currently at 13, which is an NBA record in itself.

But the month hasn't been entirely about Perko, (spoiler alert) Dwight Howard... (joined the triple-double club himself... he and Perko were the first pair to post triple-doubles since Vince Carter and Jason Kidd in 2007)... also had a very good month and had a memorable performance in the next round of 5 games. J.R. Smith continued to have some big games after returning to the lineup, while T-Mac became a member of the 50 club.

March 2021 could possibly be marked as the most eventful month in 12 seasons of TNL.

5 Game Summary

The Nuggets looked like they couldn't be beaten against the Indiana Pacers or the New York Knicks. They managed to narrowly escape from the Bucks game, but the win streak ended at 12 as Denver were beaten at Staples by a hot Lakers team. Which leads us to the feature game, which is also at Staples, this time it's the Clippers:

Melo's Winner Seels Top Seed

Image

In a dramatic end to the game against Clippers, the Nuggets won with the final play, with the final score 89-87. In what could only be described as an unusual play in the context of the game, one of Denver's bench warmers set it up:

phpBB [video]

With that basket, Melo had 16 points on the night. He was the second leading scorer for Denver, as J.R. Smith led the way with 23. Taylor MacKenzie had impact off the bench once again with 14, but the main story off the bench ended up being Adrian Young. With Perko resting in the final quarter, the 6'10 forward had a surprising 13 point game, as well as the game winning assist. But don't think that performance will dethrone Borislav from his starting position. Perko had his 38th triple-double of the season with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists as he extended his record streak to 14.

Clippers giant Zach Pearson had a dominant game and looked to steal one off the Nuggets with 25 points and 12 rebounds. He had good support around him as well with PJ Davies (19), Dickey Freeman (13), Lance Travis (12) and Philipp Wagner (10) all contributing on the offensive end. But sometimes these games can come down to just one play, and this time around, it went the way of the Denver Nuggets.

With this win, Denver have secured the top seed of the Western Conference 12 games out from the playoffs.

Borislav Perko had 5 triple-doubles once again. His most impressive surprisingly came in the loss against the Lakers where he flirted with another double-triple-double with 20 points, 17 rebounds and 19 assists. Here's how he went in the round:

Vs Indiana: 12 points 10 rebounds 12 assists
Vs Milwaukee: 15 points 16 rebounds 13 assists
Vs New York: 14 points 12 rebounds 18 assists
Vs LA Lakers: 20 points 17 rebounds 19 assists

Stop the presses; Howard has his own triple-double! He was at his absolute best against the Knicks, as he registered 36 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. Meanwhile...

During the triple-double craziness of the round, T-Mac had another solid outing off the bench with 26 against the Indiana Pacers.

Really bad transition defense by the Clippers on that play, but they chucked up a pretty terrible shot to begin with. Just like with Epic Vale, I had forgotten about Adrian Young.

Sucks that the Lakers ended the win streak, but with a triple-double machine on your team, you'll have the last laugh in the postseason. :cheeky:

What a defensive blunder by the Clippers! Great finish for the win.

Good to see the game still recognising Perko's efforts with Western Conference Player of the Month and high standing in the MVP race, especially given its tendency to favour the top scorers.

It's funny that Melo can actually be "some other guy" but that's really what he is in my team. Perko is playing out of his skin, Howard is being dominant on defense and even Smith and MacKenzie are having better seasons at this point.

I'm hoping it'll be against the Warriors because coming up against Michael Beasley for the first time would be awesome.

Martti. wrote:Holy shit, Perko is awesome. When his early triple-doubles where like 11-10-10, now he's close to 20-20-20 every 3-4 games or so. Averaging a triple-double is in the bag, looks like Big O's record is going down too.

He's definitely picking it up as the season goes on. Even if I have a complete playoff meltdown, this season will probably go down as my favourite.

All-round bad play by the Clippers. They're a team in transition since they traded Ollie Rose. I dunno what I was thinking taking the ball up the court with Adrian Young, but I guess it worked out in the end.

What sucks even more is that the Lakers are currently sitting second in the West. With the Clippers falling, the Lakeshow has risen once again.

I have to often remind myself that Melo is actually pretty clutch in real life

With the game on the line, there aren't a lot of players I'd choose over him to take the shot.

I really was surprised how easy that last bucket was. 9 times out of 10, I'll usually pull up for the jumpshot because the lane is often congested and I usually miss the layup or get my shot blocked (and with a guy that's 7'6 on the Clippers, I was lucky that didn't happen again).

I hope the system continues to stay true to how it's been over the course of the season. The season Perko has had would be worthy of the trophy in real life, no matter who else is on his team.

Re: Denver Nuggets - The Next Level (NBA Live 10)

It's All Or Nothing

With the top seed secured, the Denver Nuggets are odds-on favourites to take out their 5th title in a row. They boast one of the greatest teams in NBA history, but even with their top of the league status, they're a dynasty team at a crossroad.

Anyone will tell you that the Nuggets are an old team, and they'd be right. This will be highlighted even more when the off-season arrives, as three of their star players will have decisions to make. Brandon Roy is just about a certainty to retire, as he's fallen out of rotation in recent times, but Carmelo Anthony might not be so black and white.

Despite missing a good chunk of the season, J.R. Smith has proven that he still has a few good years left in him and Dwight Howard is still arguably the best centre in the league. If everything goes right for the Nuggets in the Playoffs, there will be every justification to keep Howard and Smith, but if they suffer a complete meltdown, the self destruct code is ready.

Carmelo Anthony's decision on whether to play on could very well effect the contract status of Dennis Da Conceicao. DDC has had scarce playing time, but the signs have been good when he's been on the court. If Melo retires, he could slot into the vacant starting spot quite easily, assuming the Nuggets want to keep Taylor MacKenzie as their go to bench guy. If Melo plays on, DDC becomes another Nuggets dynasty player who has fallen between the cracks (ALA Basil Richter and Crispin Erwin, just to name a couple).

Then of course there's the forgotten man; George Power. His 4 season career has experienced all the highs and lows of a guy who has been around for 10. With Perko the future of the club and Adrian Young the more versatile option on the bench, Power's days in the franchise (and possibly the NBA) are numbered. It'd be a sad way for him to end his tenure with the Nuggets, but with every positive story (Borislav Perko), there is ultimately someone who is going to miss out.

After the next 5 game summary, there will be 7 games left in the regular season, then the Nuggets dynasty will be on the line. With every team in the NBA out to get them, will they once again prevail and add to their trophy cabinet?

5 Game Summary

Once again, a little NBA history was made in this round. The Nuggets went 5-0, all of which were away games, surpassing the 60 mark for the season. They had no trouble against the Suns, Knicks or the Nets. The last of the 5 games though was decided by a point. With Perko tying Oscar Robertson's record in the previous game against New Jersey, it seemed fitting to put make the Bobcats game the feature:

Perko Breaks Record In Win

Image

A record that was set 53 years ago was finally broken in the Nuggets 91-89 win against the Charlotte Bobcats. Borislav Perko recorded his 42nd triple-double of the season, breaking Oscar Robertson's record of 41 set back in the 1967-68 season. It was an impressive statline too, as he had 21 points, 16 rebounds and 18 assists on the historic occasion.

With the Nuggets trailing by 14 points at the end of the third, the Nuggets came back thanks to big games from Borislav Perko and Carmelo Anthony. Along with Perko's record breaking triple-double, Carmelo Anthony had a big 4th quarter, finishing the game with 28 points. Taylor MacKenzie had a solid outing off the bench with 13, while Dwight Howard often looked bothered by the defense of Byron Mullens. He managed to score 12.

The Bobcats were the better team for the first three quarters of the game thanks to an outstanding effort from Patrick McNamara, who scored 30 points. Campbell (21) and Dixon (18) both scored with relative ease, while Timothy Banks registered a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.

Despite the great play from Charlotte, nothing was going to spoil Perko's night. He and Carmelo Anthony took on the scoring burden in the 4th and the Nuggets were able to come away with the win off the momentum they created.

Setting the Standard
Image
Borislav Perko extended his record triple-double streak to 19. Against the Magic, he had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, making it the second consecutive game where he had 20 or more. Here's his numbers from the 5 games:

Vs Phoenix: 10 points 17 rebounds 12 assists
Vs New York: 10 points 17 rebounds 15 assists
Vs New Jersey: 12 points 11 rebounds 14 assists
Vs Charlotte: 21 points 16 rebounds 18 assists
Vs Orlando: 23 points 13 rebounds 11 assists

He Knows What Time It Is
Image
Melo maybe in his twilight years of his NBA career, but true to his past self, he's coming out with big performances as the playoffs get closer. His best performance was his 33 point effort against the Phoenix Suns, but his other 4 games were pretty good too:

Vs New York: 22 points
Vs New Jersey: 27 points
Vs Charlotte: 27 points
Vs Orlando: 21 points

Nothing But Net...s
Image
Possibly the streakiest shooter in this dynasty, Taylor MacKenzie was absolutely on fire against the Nets. He scored 33 points.

No Dead Rivalries

J.R. Smith might not be competing with Ollie Rose for a scoring title this season, but he still has no problem dropping 26 points on him.

Sorry about that little bit of filler on the previous page, but I really wanted this to be at the top. It'll make it easier to find when I want to go back to it. With 7 games to go, the last 5 game summary of the season will be up next then the double feature. It's a Los Angeles double, with 1 game against the Lakers and 1 against the Clippers.

Awesome stuff. (Y) Looks like Perko's finishing the season with a triple double and I'd say the MVP, too.
