Perko's still racking up the triple-doubles. (Y) I was beginning to wonder what happened to DDC and Ed Reed after not hearing from them for a while, but good to see they are still in form.

Interesting experiment there, amazing stat line from Perko against the Thunder. He'll get that triple double on the season so long as he has a few games like that mixed with near misses on a triple double the rest of the way.

I definitely agree that Perko is the man (y)

I think I've finally found a way to use Dennis effectively, which is great coz he's still young and can jump out of the gym.

Thanks Thierry, I'm hoping I can rest J.R. and Melo for most of those games without affecting my record too much. So far so good.

Houndy wrote:Perko IS the FUTURE

That he is; he's only just starting to hit his prime and he's going for a 5th NBA championship

Mavs4Life wrote:T-mac looks sorta old in that pic  Perks haha, BEAST

I think it's the scruff, but he is approaching 30, so I guess it's appropriate.

They fell down the rotation; it's quite easy to do with my team unfortunately. DDC and Reed happen to play at positions that have a heap of talent and if they have a couple of off games in a row (which they both had), they can get buried by the depth of the team.

Andrew wrote:Interesting experiment there, amazing stat line from Perko against the Thunder. He'll get that triple double on the season so long as he has a few games like that mixed with near misses on a triple double the rest of the way.

That's what I was thinking too; with the misses, he's never far off and every now and then he can rack up 15+ in any of those three fields. Hopefully it can be enough over the course of the season. And with the aging core, I felt I owed it to myself to give the younger guys a go. Reed and DDC are both potential starters for the future. With T-Mac close to 30, I can continue to use him as a 6-man if Dennis pans out.

Jesus of the Caribbean

Jesus Carlos has come a long way in the space of months. A former baller of Fresno State, Carlos was the 60th pick of the 2020 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets at 19 years of age. He came to prominance when he scored 25 points against the Jazz and has been the most talked about rookie in the class so far since consolidating a spot in the starting lineup.

The question in everyone's mind is; where does this guy come from? With the name Jesus Carlos, a lot of people might guess Mexico. I guessed Puerto Rico, but the real answer is Canouan, an island in the Grenadines. For those of you who thinks the name of that country sounds familiar, it's because former Golden State and Orlando centre Adonal Foyle was born there as well.

With Foyle well and truly retired, the hopes of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines rests on the shoulders of Jesus Carlos. Can he lead the way for future Vincentian basketball players? Whether his career pans out or not, he's at least off to a good start.

He shall save you once your stars are gone, maybe a Jason Terry type of player or Ben Gordon. He could possibly be compared to one of those guys who comes off the bench with power and energy. But he'll get his time to shine once he gets it

As for now, i see him being a good energy giver off the bench.

Hopefully he'll develop and it'll be easy enough for him to continue to take on a bigger role as the older players in your core rotation begin to retire.

Actually at this moment he's a starter, but who knows, he could very well be a bench presense. For now, it's Taylor MacKenzie's bench as long as he's playing ;)

I think right now he's sharing a lot of minutes because there are so many point guards on my team and he's not really tall enough to play the 2.

Hopefully he'll be better than Adonal Foyle ;)

Trade News: McGee Returns To Denver

ImageImage

Denver completed a trade with Philadelphia that sent Brandon Jennings to the Sixers for Javale McGee. It's believed this decision was motivated by Denver's lack of depth behind Dwight Howard and their log-jam at the point.

McGee previously played with Denver during the 2013-2014 season before leaving to play with the Harlem Globetrotters. He returned to the NBA in the 2019-2020 season with the Sixers.

-----------------------------

This was a tough decision to make, but it was one that made sense to me. McGee adds a big man to my bench and Jennings was apart of a 4-6 man rotation (sometimes Nathan Bing and Brandon Roy play the point as well, hence 4-6). This happened after the second game in my next 5 game summary.

Sad to see BJ go but you did need a backup and to lessen the logjam at point. Nice move

Martti won't like it :| But clearing that jam at the point it's a good decision.

Sounds like a good move to me too. Jennings has had his moments but he's no Chauncey Billups, that's for sure. Seems like your roster could use another big much more than it did Jennings at the point, shame to see him go on one hand but hopefully it'll work out for the best moving forward.

I think it's an A for you on that trade. It's really hard to play the guards when they are so many, and McGee is good for a backkup (Y) Defensive minded too (Y)

It was hard to trade him, but that extra depth behind Howard I think is a must. Plus I had way too many point guards. Didn't feel right trading Jesus or Reed since they are so young and Patty Mills' salary didn't match up to anyone I could use.

I thought of Martti right when I made the decision, trust me ;)

I love what he's contributed to the story, but I guess it was time to move on. It's also nice to give Javale another go I think. He only got to play a season while I was simulating, so I didn't feel like he had a fair chance to prove his worth.

It's particularly hard when you play 7 minute quarters. You do your best to juggle your talent, but in the end, one or two players are going to be left wanting. Brandon Jennings was becoming one of those players and I thought it'd be best to move him on.

Houndy wrote:McGee looks good if he's progressed well.

Well for the role I want him to do, I think he's a great fit. Jakov Branco has had a solid season, but I think McGee will give me that extra toughness in the paint for when Howard is resting.

Martti. wrote:Don't like it, unless your very confident in Jesus. :D

Well with Jennings gone, the minutes will be there for him and Reed, so I think it's a positive move.

Thanks Derrick-Lawson (great name btw), it's always great to have new readers for this dynasty. You just reminded me that I actually bought a second copy of this game to keep this going. It seems like such a long time ago now, but I don't regret the decision. I bought 2k10 off steam and although I could understand it's popularity, at the end of the day, I have had a lot more fun with Live 10.

Update

Just thought I'd give you the heads up on my current situation. At the moment I'm housesitting for my mum, who is in London right now. While I have access to my computer and the internet, the PS3 is back at my place. So if anyone is wondering why my My Player story is getting more love at the moment, that's why. I'll be back with this one in a few weeks.

Thanks, but unfortunately I have to report that this dynasty has suffered another set back. My first night back home, the TV we have in our house shorted-out our power supply. So now I have no TV. I'm definitely not going to opt out of this one yet, because I still feel like I have a lot more left to accomplish, but there will definitely be a hiatus until the TV is either fixed or replaced.

Understandable, sorry to hear about the TV. Looking forward to seeing this one pick up again when you can, as we've said before it's HOF bound when you do bring it to a close but I'm keen to see it run a little longer. :)
