I'm starting to think so as well

Good thing you didn't lose twice to the Spurs. T-Mac's mustache was absent in that game, so it was really him who scored 36 points. :P If you are to meet the Wizards in the Finals again, I have a feeling JR will explode for 50 in multiple games.

I could probably go back and look through the thread and count that way I suppose, but yeah, I have lost count. Right now he seems to be a threat to do it every game since I'm running a lot of my offense through him. Both Earl and KD can cut to the rim really effectively, so with his passing skills I can get those two their points closer to the rim or through wide open looks.

The Spurs are generally a team I can tolerate losing to, but I do hate losing twice to any team. T-Mac is another guy who is capitalising off Perko's passing at the moment.

That he is :)

Hopefully he will be considered for the monthly award.

NBA All-Star Weekend 2020

Rookie Challenge: Rookies Upset Sophomores in OT

Image

Heavy favourites the Sophomores went down to the Rookies by 77-74 in OT. The first year players had 5 double scorers, with the Rookie Challenge MVP Nicholas Schneider leading the way with 21. Thomas Sanders from Cleveland was the next best with 15, while both Crawford Wilson (11 points 17 rebounds) and Axel Donnelly (11 points 11 rebounds) registered double-doubles on the night. New York's Steven King was the last of the noteable scorers for the Rookies with 10 points.

For the Sophomores, championship winner Ed Reed was the top scorer of the game for both teams with 29. Steven MacMahon scored 20 and had the play of the night. The diminutive 5'9 guard sent the game to OT using this patented TNL "play":

MacKenzie Brody from Chicago was the last of the double-digit scorers for the Sophomores with 11 points to go with 14 rebounds.

------------------------------------------------

ROOKIES VS SOPHOMORES
(OT)
ROOKIES: 77 (Schneider 21, Sanders 15, Donnelly 11)
SOPHOMORES: 74 (Reed 29, MacMahon 20, Brody 11)

Rookie Challenge MVP: Nicholas Schneider 21 points 2 rebounds 4 assists 2 blocks

Rebounds

ROOKIES: Wilson 17
SOPHOMORES: Keenan 16

Assists

ROOKIES: Campbell, Schneider 4
SOPHOMORES: Freeman, Keenan 4

With 29 points and 5 steals, Ed Reed probably would have gotten the MVP trophy if the Sophomores won.

Image
Steven MacMahon showed that little guys can play big. 20 points plus the moment that made this a long weekend.

Image
Lucas Keenan was the enforcer of the night, with 6 blocked shots and 16 rebounds.

Image
The Sophomores lack of size ended up coming back to bite them, as Crawford Wilson had 11 points and 17 boards.

Next up will be the main event (AKA Perko's first all-star game).

Seems there's a fair amount of very pale skinned gingers in the league.

Shame Reed couldn't bring home any hardware but here's hoping that Perko can take MVP honours in the main event.

NLSC should totally create a "Squad 6" type fan group for Borislav Perko :P

Yes, NBA Live 10 has predicted in 2020 that the league will be full of undersized, unathletic gingers/white boys in the draft classes

I was trying pretty hard to get him the award as well, but NBA Live 10 doesn't favour you if you don't win the game unfortunately.

All-Star Weekend

All-Star Game: Curry Carries West in OT; Perko Registers Another Triple Double

Image

The West continued their dominant run over the East, picking up a 101-92 win in overtime. Stephen Curry scored all 13 of his points in the extra period, but the MVP trophy was awarded to Denver's Borislav Perko. Over the last month he has enjoyed several triple-double performances and lived up to expectations in the NBA's biggest party. He led 3 categories for the game with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. His two partners in crime J.R. Smith (20) and Kevin Durant (13) were also productive, but Perko would be the headliner of Denver's big 3. Leading MVP Candidate Ollie Rose was the last of the West's double figure scorers with 10 points.

Derrick Rose was the main spark for the East with 20 points and 8 assists. Perenial All-Star Tristan Lehmann lost the battle with Perko, but still managed a solid outing of 17 points. Patrick McNamara (15), Duncan O'Farrell (14) and Kurt Dale (10) all helped to bring the East the closest they have been to a win in recent times, but some clutch shooting in the 4th by KD and Stephen Curry's dominance in OT took away whatever chance they had to turn the tide.

-------------------------------------------------

EAST VS WEST
(OT)
WEST: 101 (Perko 23, Smith 20, Curry 13)
EAST: 92 (D Rose 20, Lehmann 17, McNamara 15)

All-Star MVP: Borislav Perko 23 points 11 rebounds 11 assists 2 steals

Rebounds

WEST: Perko 11
EAST: Pearson 8

Assists

WEST: Perko 11
EAST: Rose 8

-------------------------------------------------

The Stars From Denver

Image
Borislav Perko: 23 points 11 rebounds 11 assists 2 steals (All-Star MVP)

Image
J.R. Smith: 20 points 2 rebounds

Image
Kevin Durant: 13 points 1 assist 2 steals

Image
DeAndre Jordan: 3 points (3/4 FT!!!!) 2 rebounds 2 blocks

-------------------------------------------------

That was quite an enjoyable All-Star Weekend and it can't get any better than my favourite player of the franchise picking up the MVP in the main game. Regular 5 game format will be up next, then the February report.

It's turning out to be a great season. For a little while I was feeling a bit over NBA Live 10, but with the season Perko is having, it's made me really enthusiastic about this once again.

5 Game Summary

After losing the last game of the previous summary to the Spurs, the Nuggets went undefeated this time around, going 5-0. In the game before the All-Star break, Denver completed a 31 point demolition against the last West side the Trail Blazers. Utah didn't come a whole lot closer as they were easily accounted for, while Boston also felt the wrath of the 3-peat champions. Before the feature game, the second best Eastern Conference side got the closest, losing by 10 points. But the biggest challenge of the 5 game summary came from the league cellar dwellers, the Orlando Magic:

Nuggets Win Ugly Against Tragic Orlando

Image

The Nuggets were able to win a low scoring 74-67 game against Orlando in Denver. The post-Dwight Magic haven't had a lot to cheer about this season, but they managed to be the only team to lose by single digits in Denver's last 5 games. They were led by Eli Buck, who scored 17 points. MacKenzie MacMahon added 12, while Fred Carroll and Duncan Werner both had 10 points each.

J.R. Smith provided Denver with 22 points and ended up being a big difference between the teams as the only player above 20 points. Kevin Durant had a quiet one with 14 points, while Borislav Perko had yet another solid outing with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

ORL@DEN

DEN: 74 (Smith 22, Durant 14, Perko 12)

Sprite Performer of the Game: Borislav Perko 12 points 9 rebounds 6 assists 1 steal 1 block

The Nuggets are now 46-9 for the year.

The Real Nuggets MVP?
Image
Perko continues to produce the stat-lines and against the Jazz, he did what he does best. This time he had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. The Nuggets are starting to run most of their plays through him, with both J.R. Smith and Kevin Durant getting better shots by cutting to the rim.

Unaffected
Image
Even though all the talk has been about Borislav Perko, J.R. Smith's game hasn't been affected at all. Against the Celtics he scored 35 points and still remains number 2 in the league when it comes to points per game.

Where Did That Come From?!
Image
Rudy Fernandez has been benched lately in favour of Taylor MacKenzie, but when he made a statement when he came on to play against Detroit. He ended up being the game's top scorer with 28 points. Wow!

Becoming What Skita Wanted to Be?
Image
Aaron Watters showed what a useful role player he's becoming for Denver with 14 points against Portland. When you look at this guy play, you can't help but think of Nikoloz Tskitishvili. Skita came to Denver as a highly touted 7-footer that had range. Eventually he ended up being a bust. Will Watters become what Denver wanted Nikoloz Tskitishvili to be?

I'd recommend the same thing Mavs4Life has Thierry. You may put Borislav Perko in your current association, but only if it lasts til 2015 ;)

If you can get Live 10 for cheap, I'd say there's no harm in getting it. All it's flaws aside, it's a pretty solid game. I think one of it's better features is how effectively you can control players off the ball. It's how I've gotten so many assists with Perko

Andrew wrote:Perko's become a triple double machine. (Y)

The triple-doubles are almost starting to sneak up on me. I tend to ramp up my play with him when I find out that I'm close, but generally I can go for a half without checking his stats and be shocked with how well he's doing.

February 2020 Review

February 2020 was a month where a superstar was born (don't worry Sit, I said superstar :P). Borislav Perko is not only shaping up as a favourite for the Most Improved award, but he's now being named as a darkhorse for the MVP trophy as well, currently sitting in 5th place. While all this was happening, J.R. Smith kept scoring and holds onto second place in the same race.

Denver continued their domination over the Western Conference. They ended the month with a record of 46-9... their next closest West rival? The LA Clippers with 33-23. It is becoming the season where the West has fallen off the wagon and the East are finally beginning to catch up, with only 4 teams in Denver's conference above .500. The Nuggets start March on the road and will look to add to their current 5 game win streak.

The Adrian Young Experiment

Being in the Western Conference, I'm going to try and test a theory of mine in March 2020. Rudolf Fichs won the West Rookie of the Month in February with poultry stats; so my rookie Adrian Young is going to get George Power's minutes in March. My theory is that the Western Conference rookie talent is so weak that I can get the conference rookie of the month with one of my role players/bench warmers. Let's see how this pans out. Apologies to George Power fans, as you're unlikely to see him in March.

--------------------------------------------------

Coming into the second last month of the regular season. Can Denver keep up their momentum in March? Next will be a 5 game summary.

I was gone for two days and you have updates gallore? What a blow, man. :P

Good to see Perko get the second all-time triple-double in the ASG. (Y) Seems as if you've found an effective way to get him involved in the offense and still get JR and KD their points. I'm surprised at how sub-par the West is. Along with the unathletic white boys prediction, is Live 10 also predicting an uncompetitive Western Conference in 2020?

Nice to see Chicago on top in the East. :)

That'd be really something if you could get Perko the MVP and MIP in the same year. No former MIP winner has ever actually gone on to win the MVP award, let alone picking them both up in the same season...in real life, at least.
