Huge games by Rudy Gay and AB. Good work getting Gay in foul trouble in Game 4. (Y) Perko. Game 5 should be a breeze if you do the same. (Y)

Yeah, I find it very hard not to like those two guys. Loved Birdman's redemption season in real life.

Thanks maksie, results should be up soon :)

I guess you'll find out soon whether I do or not ;)

You never know, this playoffs have proven that the Nuggets aren't completely bullet proof... there might be a 7 in there somewhere.

Unless the Bobcats or Spurs make comebacks of epic proportions...

Either way, it's been nice to have the challenge :)

Both those guys always give me troubles but I always tend to figure out that I need to attack Rudy on offense... I just need to jog my memory sometimes.

Andrew wrote:Looks like you'll be able to advance to another NBA Finals in front of your home crowd. (Y)

That is one of the positives about not sweeping the series :)

Still yet to be seen, but yes, it certainly looks that way.

The Knicks have Rondo; he's a weapon!

Western Conference Finals: Denver Vs San Antonio
The Conclusion

Game 5: Perko leads Denver to the NBA Finals

Denver have seeled their place in the NBA Finals with a resounding 98-73 victory against the Spurs. While J.R. Smith was the top scorer with 31, it was Borislav Perko who was the difference maker. He registered his second consecutive triple-double as he started for the Nuggets. He had 24 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, while Billups was close to a double-double wiht 12 points and 9 assists. Kevin Durant complemented the others with 11 points of his own to round out the double-digit scorers.

For the Spurs, Rudy Gay stepped up his game again with 26 points and 12 rebounds, but he was clearly troubled by Perko once again. In the other games, the Spurs had atleast 4 double-digit scorers, but in this one, they only had three and that proved to be pivotal. Johnny Gibson had his best game of the series with 21 points, while Aaron Brooks struggled with only 10.

The Nuggets now advance to play either New York or Charlotte in the NBA Finals.

Perko is a guy who I really invested a lot of time in considering I traded away LaMarcus Aldridge just so he can be a starter in his rookie year. With an overall rating of 68, he's probably the best rated rookie I've drafted. As for Power, he's started all the games except for that one. He's been solid on the defensive end but his offensive game hasn't been a factor since there's already a log-jam of scorers for me at the moment. In light of the previous two performances, I think I'll have to have Perko as my starting Power Forward for atleast the beginning of the NBA Finals.

Axel. wrote:Another Finals appearance... another day at the office. Hoping for a sweep in the Finals. :)

One thing I do love about the finals is that they all have that trophy on their uniforms. Nice little touches like that and the crowd going apeshit make it still an exciting experience for me :)

Assuming that the Knicks actually won their series ;)

Keys

Experience

New York will be calling on the experience of their main man Rajon Rondo. Even though he earnt his ring 10 seasons ago now, Rondo is the only player with the experience of this whole process. Even though he's listed as a shooting guard, he will be leading his team and doing the majority of the ball handling. After an incredible run in the playoffs, Rondo will have to provide the calming veteran influence... because, can you really see Delonte West doing that?

The Revelation

When the Nuggets couldn't control Rudy Gay, they called upon Borislav Perko to help handle the situation. Not only did he do his job excellently, but he registered 2 triple-doubles in doing so. Now he's a guy that New York will be scouting and how he handles that pressure will be key to Denver's title defense.

------------------------------------------------

Here it is, the NBA Finals! As another season comes to it's crescendo, will Denver win their 5th title in 9 years? Or can New York earn their place in the history books as the NBA's greatest underdog? The first 4 games will be up soon.

Hide your mothers, Delonte West is in the house! If Rondo has acquired a jumpshot, NY might be able to take a game, but my money's on you taking home the trophy! :headbang:

That's right; you can't trust that guy! Rondo is definitely all-star quality in my game, but his jumpshot is still an unknown entity.

Nah, it's a computer generated rookie. A white guy with blond hair if I remember correctly.
