Bad sure does inspire a lot using his great thread, huh? I'd vote this to the HOF when it's done.

Yeah, this one's an automatic induction if ever there was one. Basically comes down to badreligiouau calling an end to it when he's ready.

Definitely, it feels like a long time ago since I've gone through almost 9 seasons and 30 pages now. Makes me wonder where it'll be in another year's time.

Lamrock wrote:Cool flashback. (Y) You've sure come a long way with this.

Thanks Lamrock; a lot of your suggestions early on really helped me develop this :)

By the way, your banner for Saur Losers II is possibly the greatest I've seen on this site. That mascot fail is one of my favourite videos on youtube.

The X wrote:I always love a good retrospective (Y)

Glad to hear it because I plan to do a lot of them in my 10th season :)

Axel. wrote:Awesome anniversary post. (Y) Like the player cards too. :)

Thanks Axel, I decided to do the player cards after I lost interest in my Miami Association. Seems more fitting in this dynasty since there's a lot of history in it now.

z02 wrote:Hope to see this going for another year! Congrats. (Y)

Well since I bought 2k11 for my PC and not PS3, I don't see why I couldn't go for another year.

Thanks dare, having your dynasties run along side it definitely helped me pick up the ante I think.

I was the same when I first came on this website too. The HOF entries are just amazing, so it's always flattering to hear people rank my dynasty right up there.

It's a great forum so it's good to know I'm playing my part in getting new story writers.

Hearing about inspiring others is definitely the most gratifying thing about starting and continuing this story. I'm glad to hear that other people have gotten a lot out of this as well. Dynasty writing has definitely been a medium I've been enjoying over the last year.

I was planning to quit after the 10th, but at the moment I've still got a lot of ideas and possibilities with this thread. Since I've been told I have that spot in the HOF, a goal of mine is to make it the longest story in there. I think by memory I've got another 8 pages to go, but in saying that, I'm by no means limiting myself to that mark.

Someone might have to drag me away from the game for me to quit this dynasty I think

Playoffs Round 1: Denver Vs Dallas
The Conclusion

Game 5: Denver advance to conference semis

Image

After a shock loss in Game 4, Denver left nothing to chance as they blew Dallas away in the 4th to win 89-72. The halves were very much divided between
J.R. Smith and Chauncey Billups. In the first half, while Billups only scored 2 points, Smith was at the forefront of Denver's offense scoring 25. He ended up with 29 points and the Sprite Performer of the Game. In the second half, Billups finished the game where he started this series off, scoring 24 points in the last two periods to have 26 on the night. While Durant was struggling to fire, Nicolas Batum came in the middle two quarters and scored 17 points to provide Denver their third scoring option.

Dallas had 4 double-digit scorers with Brady O'Leary leading the way with 18. After early foul trouble, Corin Robertson was well contained in the first half, but still managed 17 on the night. Edmund Feehan and Garrick Casey both scored 12. Feehan registered his 3rd double-double of the series with 14 rebounds as well.

The Mavericks kept it close for 3 quarters but Denver were a team with a point to prove in the 4th. They now advance to the conference semis where they'll play the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers series.

With a scare in the first round, can Denver go on to dominate the playoffs once again? Or will the opposing teams find a weakness in the well-oiled machine? Results of the first round and the preview of the next will be up soon.

That's an association though isn't it? In the dynasty hall of fame, the longest one I can see is by -BHZMAFIA-.

Obviously I'd love to reach Sit's mark of 57, but I figured I'll just aim for the dynasty mark of 37 for now. When/if I reach it, then I'll go for the all time.

Keys

One Old Man

Chauncey Billups looked like he was gunning for a second Finals MVP in the last round against the Mavericks. He proved to be hard to contain during the series, scoring at will and finding open team mates. He has been the focal point for Denver's offense and should be the key man for this series

The Fro Bros

Ollie Rose and Ricardo Carlos will be vital for Los Angeles if they have any thought of advancing. Rose is in the same mold as Stanley Alston; a shooting guard who can do it all. He has been a perenial MVP candidate over the past few years and is possibly the best player in the league who hasn't won the honour yet. Along with him will be his partner in crime. Ricardo Carlos is a long small forward who can not only score, but can block shots like former team mate Josh Smith. The hopes of the City of Angels relies heavily on these two.

------------------------------------

The first 4 games will be up next. I anticipate a great series here no matter what the result will be, because the Clippers are always a challenging team... hopefully I can get them in 4 though ;)

In this dynasty, the good teams (Lakers, Celtics, Heat) suck.

One thing 2k (one of many things actually) has over live/elite is the hiring and firing of coaches. I'd love to have something along those lines in this game, so I can make that apart of the story without worrying about accidentally taking a photo of the Mavs bench with their previous coach

I guess like Axel said, I'd like to take this as far as I can and break as many records as possible. I've had a really good run with this and to be honest, it's going to be a hard act to follow once I do finally give it all away.

I'm hoping that the Clippers will be a bit easier, but they have a much better team.

That would be the likely pick since they have the big three (Curry, James and Oden) but San Antonio do have the second seed. So we'll see :)

With Ollie Rose in the lineup, that might not be a bad guess.

Yeah, I guess it is hard to really describe how good some of them are without the stats or footage to back it up. Let's just say Ollie Rose isn't too far away from Stanley Alston and he's basically D-Wade 2.0 ;)

The Lakers and Celtics yes, but the Heat had the number 1 seed going into this playoffs. New York might have had a motivational preparation with Larry Johnson before the series ;)

He just about always does. Him and Stanley Alston are probably the two closest players to D-Wade that the computer has generated

Denver Vs LA Clippers
The First 4 Games

Game 1: Denver all class in blowout

Image

The Denver Nuggets have made a statement in their first game against the Clippers, thrashing them 103-81. After sweeping them last year in the Western Conference Finals, the Nuggets picked up where they left off as Billups top scored with 33 points in a Performer of the Game display. J.R. Smith also proved hard to hard with 25 points. Kevin Durant was a little more consistent from the field with 17, while stalwart Chris Andersen registered a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds.

For the Clipper Nation, perenial MVP candidate Ollie Rose led the way with 26, while being supported by Ricardo Carlos (17 points). Reuben Glanville (13 points, 10 assists) and Stan Morgan (12 points 11 rebounds) both achieved double-doubles, but the Clippers really needed another guy to score 20 plus on the night to combat the potent offense of Denver.

It will be a long series for the Clippers if Denver continues on in this fashion.

----------------------------------

LAC@DEN

DEN: 103 (Billups 33, Smith 25, Durant 17)
LAC: 81 (Rose 26, Carlos 17, Glanville 13)

LAC: Williams 12

Assists

DEN: Billups 7
LAC: Glanville 10

----------------------------------

Game 2: Denver edge Clippers

Image

The Nuggets fought off a spirited Clippers lineup to win Game 2 89-86. In an unusual box score, J.R. Smith was the only player from Denver to score in double-figures with 35 points. Kevin Durant (9), Chris Andersen (8) and Brandon Jennings (8) were the other three closest to the mark. However in the fourth quarter when they were looking to close the game out, they found a trusty free throw shooter in Chauncey Billups, who has yet to miss a free throw this entire playoffs.

The Clippers scoreboard had a different complexion, with more of a team effort on their behalf. Ollie Rose was the top scorer with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Ricardo Carlos went over twenty points in this game (21). Stan Morgan had another double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds and Reuben Glanville had another solid game with 11 points and 7 assists.

In this game, the Los Angeles Clippers showed that they have what it takes to stay with Denver an entire game if they're switched on. They will need more performances like that if they plan to stay in the series for more than 4 games.

----------------------------------

LAC@DEN

DEN: 89 (Smith 35, Durant 9, Andersen 8)
LAC: 86 (Rose 28, Carlos 21, Morgan 18)

Game 3: Nuggets outlast Clippers in OT

Image

It took an extra period, but Denver took a 3-0 lead against the Clippers by winning 116-105. In the dying moments of the game, Denver were actually down 90-88, when J.R. Smith came up with this play:

phpBB [video]

With the game tied at 90 all, Reuben Glanville had a contested 3 to win the game, but it missed. In the extra period, the Nuggets would take over the game, outscoring the Clippers 26-15 in extra time. Kevin Durant had his best performance of the playoffs in this game, scoring 29 points. J.R. Smith would also be a higher contributor once again with 25. Chauncey Billups was the Player of the Game once again, registering a double-double with 23 points and 10 assists. George Power would also prove to be prominant in this game, reaching double figures in both scoring (16) and rebounding (10). Energy man Garth Vine once again hit some big threes to score 12 points.

For the Clippers, Ollie Rose proved to be the outstanding player once again, leading his team in points (38) and assists (7). Stan Morgan had his 3rd consecutive double-double against the Nuggets with 24 points and 14 rebounds. To round out the scorers, both Ricardo Carlos and Reuben Glanville scored 15 each.

The Los Angeles Clippers came at Nuggets with all guns blazing, at one stage leading by 8 points in the 4th. While the teams were unable to be seperated in regulation, the late game execution was the key towards the end of the extra period.

----------------------------------

DEN@LAC

(OT)

DEN: 116 (Durant 29, Smith 25, Billups 23)
LAC: 105 (Rose 38, Morgan 24, Carlos 15)

Game 4: Clippers curse continues: Denver complete sweep

Image

For the second year in a row, the Denver Nuggets have swept the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs, winning Game 4 by 109-70. The Nuggets came out all guns blazing and they kept up the intensity through the duration. Both J.R. Smith and Chauncey Billups scored over 35 points each with 38 and 36 respectively. Billups would go on to win the Performer of the Game with the better overall stat-line. With the scoring load managed by those two, Kevin Durant only needed to contribute 10 for the Nuggets to prevail. The real surprise of this game was Robin Lopez. With Denver ahead by a lot at the start of the quarter, he came out and almost got a double-double (8 points and 9 rebounds).

For the woeful Clippers, Ollie Rose once again had a great performance with 23 points. Sean Williams had his first double-double of the series with 16 points and 13 rebounds, but the rest of the team were below par. Reuben Glanville struggled from the field and ended up with 12, while Ricardo Carlos was down on his usual output with 11.

After a tight middle 2 games of the series, this blowout win came as a shock to both Denver and the fans at Staples. When it came down to it, Denver just looked like they wanted it more.

----------------------------------

DEN@LAC

DEN: 109 (Smith 38, Billups 36, Durant 10)
LAC: 70 (Rose 23, Williams 16, Glanville 12)

Sprite Performer of the Game: Chauncey Billups 36 points 1 rebound 6 assists 1 block 3 steals

LAC: Morgan 16

LAC: Glanville 5

So with a series sweep, Denver will now either face the big three of Phoenix or the second seeded Spurs. Either way, the WCF this season is one not to be missed. Results from the semis and preview of the Conference Finals will be up next.
