Feature game: Nice numbers by Marvin. (Y)

Good to see you're putting Yao to good use, 27 rebounds is a career high I think. (Y) Still great man, hope you can get the 10th season in. :)

Yao was a steal.
Great run, even if Elite is coming out, I would still continue this dynasty for fun (Y)

The run continues! Nice work extending the winning streak, getting the job done in overtime and racking up another 50+ point game for Durant. You're definitely in great shape as the Playoffs loom. :)

Of course I noticed the wins...I've been reading this thread even before I joined.

Trading Melo for Durant was a good choice, I mean, Durant has more years in him even if Melo is the more experienced one. Durant can be, if not already, legendary.

Yao is always going to be a gun cause' of his size.

J.R. Smith has always been one of my favourites to play with on NBA :) Very cool seeing him as a MVP.

Great job badreligionau!

Thanks antl, I really like playing with Kevin Durant. Even though he's not as good in the post, he's got more range than Melo, which helps a lot.

Yao has been fantastic and for the role I use him in, his size is definitely a big strength. As for J.R. Smith, I enjoy his game in real life too... even if he can frustrate me a bit with the way he acts sometimes. Luckily in the game, what happens off the court is purely made up by me in this story.

Thanks for dropping by :)

Durant has the ability to have some absolutel monster games. He's been a great fit so far :)

Martti. wrote:What did Jennings do in his return to Milwaukee?

Jennings has been a bit of a struggler lately. Against the Bucks he had 4 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Nice stats off the bench for the last two stats, but his scoring hasn't been much of a factor lately.

Durantula_MVP wrote:27 rebs  Crazy numbers (Y) (Y) (Y) KD

27 rebounds is an absolutely beastly number. If Jennings doesn't pick up his game a little, Yao could steal his 6th man trophy this year.

Thierry. wrote:44-6... Keep it up man!

Thanks Thierry, it's been a great season so far.

Marvin's actually developed quite nicely in this game... he's got quite a nice perimeter shot which surprises me the most. Yao is just unstoppable on the boards most of the time. It's like the guy can reach the top of the backboard without even trying.

Yao has been a steal and the more I think about it, the more I want to continue on with this until it has to end. With Fallout New Vegas coming out soon, I might have to complete this season pretty quick though.

megarover wrote:George Power has been fitting in very well. What kind of numbers is he putting up.

Here are his numbers from when I last checked:

11.3ppg 5.9rpg 2.2apg 1.1bpg

I guess with those numbers he's not really setting the world on fire, but he's definitely doing a good job as a rookie and a guy who's probably the 3rd or 4th scoring option most of the time.

Andrew wrote:The run continues! Nice work extending the winning streak, getting the job done in overtime and racking up another 50+ point game for Durant. You're definitely in great shape as the Playoffs loom. :)

It's been a great run and hopefully I'll continue it closer to the playoffs as well. I've looked ahead at my games and I worked out that I have 18 straight home games and only 1 away game in the whole month of March... it's absolutely absurd, but I'm hoping it'll work to my advantage.

I have long blond hair, pale skin and (although very rarely) clean shaven... so what are you trying to say 501stJointFighterWing?

Mr Perko somewhat matches that description too ;)

This conversation somewhat reminds me of this bit of the Simpsons:

5 Game Summary

The winning streak came to an end at the beginning of this 5 game summary with a close loss to Dallas. However the streak began again with 4 wins in a row in the last 4 games. The feature is against the Houston Rockets:

Denver too Powerful

Image

Rookie George Power completed a triple-double in Denver's 100-94 win against the Houston Rockets. He had 16 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists as he picked up the Sprite Performer of the Game. Chauncey Billups picked up where he left off against the Mavericks but top scoring for the Nuggets again with 27. Kevin Durant was relatively quiet with 17, while veteran big man Chris Andersen managed to chip in with 10 points.

For the Rockets, Fred Carroll was their best player, scoring 31 points and grabbing 12 boards. Carl Ellis and Kyle Lowry both picked up 13 points, while Jon Hunt had 12. Gun bench player Liam Koch sparked his team with 10.

Houston were close the whole time, but ended up fading in the closing stages. Denver's experience in the big games was on display as they closed out their opposition. This win comes after a surprise loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

-------------------------------

HOU@DEN

DEN: 100 (Billups 27, Durant 17, Power 16)
HOU: 94 (Carroll 31, Ellis 13, Lowry 13)

Sprite Performer of the Game: George Power 16 points 14 rebounds 11 assists 1 steal

Rebounds

DEN: Power 14
HOU: Carroll 12

Assists

DEN: Power 11
HOU: Lowry 8

-------------------------------

Last 5 Games

DAL: 81-77 L
HOU: 100-94 W
SAN: 110-102 W
SAN: 79-66 W
ATL: 107-82 W

Denver are now 48-7

-------------------------------

The Round of Billups
Image
In his 20th season, Chauncey Billups has come up with one of his best rounds of the dynasty. Over 5 games, here are his numbers:

DAL: 29 points
HOU: 27 points
SAN: 26 points 5 assists
SAN: 16 points 7 assists
ATL: 18 points 8 assists

As his scoring fell, his distribution went up, which is always a great sign for a point guard.

At it Again!
Image
It wasn't quite 50, but it was close enough. Durant scored 48 against the Hawks

Redemption
Image
After a poor showing in the Rookie Challenge where he was upstaged by his teammate, Borislav Perko was on fire against the Spurs in the first game. He scored 26 points to be the equal high scorer for the Nuggets

Still Capable
Image
Whilst Birdman's role is smaller than in previous years, he's still capable of having a good game. Against the Spurs he scored 12, while grabbing 6 boards and blocking 3 shots. It's the second game of the round where he has scored double figures; a rare feat for Andersen.

Next 5 Games

IND
ORL
GSW
GSW
LAC

The end of the month is going to split this round, so a review of February 2018 will be up next. Will Chauncey's most recent form win him a monthly award? Or will he get beaten out by Durant's monster performances? Will Denver miss out all together? You shall find out very soon.

Glad to know I'm not the only one!

Shame the streak came to an end, I'm going for my 17th straight in my Bulls Dynasty. One of us needs to break the all-time record. ;) Nice triple-double by Power in the Rockets game, seems Billups and Durant are still rolling as well. Hope you've got some good news on the monthly award front.

Surprising loss against Dallas, but a nice triple-double from Power. Billups and Andersen have been quiet the past few 5-game summaries, but good to see they're still strong. (Y)

That's awesome, I guess I started calling him that because he said he was going to change it at one point. But he never did so when I acquired him back, I just found it easier to call him J.R. again.

My whole family does it, so don't worry

I'd make a comment on your winning streak, but the last time I did, it came to an end so I'll just not say whatever I was going to. With the way Billups is playing, it makes me think that he could come back for another season, which I hope he does do because he'll equal Robert Parish then.

Thierry. wrote:Man, Billups still amazes me. 40 years old and that kind of performances!

He's definitely something else. I'm hoping he'll play til he's really old in real life too because I think a lot of his skills would allow him to do so. I don't think he'll have as rapid decline as some... but then again, this season might prove me wrong... hope it doesn't.

Axel. wrote:Surprising loss against Dallas, but a nice triple-double from Power. Billups and Andersen have been quiet the past few 5-game summaries, but good to see they're still strong. (Y)

Yeah, Billups and Andersen haven't gotten much love lately but since they both had noteworthy performances during this one, I thought I'd give them a mention.

Losing to Dallas was just weird... they have Vujacic on their bench still!

Not so much consecutive games, but he has done it for consecutive summaries. I think the great thing about this team is that I don't have to rely on him putting up those numbers every night. There's plenty of other players that can pick up the slack.

Houndy wrote:Mavericks own

Who would have thought I'd get beaten by the Dirk-less, Kidd-less, Terry-less Mavs in this dynasty. But oh well, they still have Sasha... he has a ring (not two, since Orlando won the inaugeral season)

And I concur with your remark about Durant :)

Billups has the starting job purely by form at the moment. Jennings hasn't been shooting too well but he is still a good distributor of the ball. It's hard to deny Chauncey the majority of the minutes when he's on this tear though.
