IS there a way to change the control settings? (PSP)

I just got the game and after playing 1 game using the PSP nub (have a fat model) my thumb is hurting. The PSP nub is definitely not the way to go to play a basketball game. I've checked in the preferences but there's no way to change the controls. Tell me that there is a way to change the controller settings please!

I have it for the PSP as well and there is no way to change the controls settings.
