Training shooters

Simple question: How do you train shooters in academy? After practice the stat-box shows how players INSIDE or ATHLETIC abilities have grown but I've never gotten their OUTSIDE skills to grow. I've tried to shoot a lot in 5 on 0 and 5 on 5 practices without results.

I haven't figured that out either.

I'm not sure about this but my guess is that it's possibly achieved through the Quick Strike drills, since they're one of the "guard station" challenges. Worth a shot.
