Will NBA LIVE 09 have superstar mode?

Postby MVP24 on Thu Jun 12, 2008 3:10 pm

Of Course what some gamers care more about is gameplay as well as graphics. I think that if NBA LIVE09 provided some sort superstar mode (like madden's superstar mode, where you create a rookie from scratch and build him through the season.) Maybe that would give LIVE a slight advantage over 2K.

I mean yeah its fun to control your favorite players, but damn it sometimes you wanna be the hero of the game instead of Kobe,Or Lebron. 2K has attempt this already but it really stunk :? ... and when it comes to putting a decent story together leave it up to EA to do it. :D

I think that both NBA LIVE and NBA 2K, are both franchises neck and neck with each other. Both have defects and both are striving for perfection. Really if you ask me I think NBA LIVE has a more realestic look than 2k....2K may look real in a Commercial but once the game starts it looks so unrealistic. But NBA LIVE is not perfect either..it also has problems with Skirt Jerseys lol..and all the players have the same sweat pattern...None the less NBA LIVE delivers a more real feel...

I'd rather have the game play great before any such mode was implemented. Honestly, that's a game in itself with storylines and everything. When did 2k attempt this?

Well 2k actually sort of attempted, i forgot what its called i think 24/7 mode where you play the nba superstars in different courts through america. i think instead of street...bring it to the real court.

Nothing has been said so I guess it could still be a possibility but I'm with Pdub, I think the focus should be improving the modes and features already in the game before adding a new mode that is practically a whole seperate game.

No, its been asked in the weekly 1v1's and that producer already shot this down for this year. I'd find the quote but I dont really want to search through all the questions.
Opinions are my own.

He did too, now that you mention it. I too can't remember which Q&A that question was featured in though.

A lot of people are but I'm not all that crazy about it. I'm a fan of the existing season/Dynasty model and while a single player career mode seems like something the series should eventually have, I'd be disappointed if it was implemented before the current gameplay modes reached their potential.

I agree with Pdub. I wouldn't even mind having players that look like xiao xiao as long as it has superb realistic gameplay coupled with great dynasty mode.
